Ah, ok thanks.
Btw-has anyone tried to record for an extended amount of time (over 2 hours). I tried but XM turned off despite my having set my computer to accept cookiees.

I wouldn't recommend doing this with the streams. I tried last nite and the server "stopped due to inactivity" after three hours. I gave up and borrowed my mom and dad's receiver and attached it to the other computer and am copying both shows now. So far so good since 10:30am today.

I have been listening to the 70's all day. I can't remember exactly what show it was today but when Casey was doing a dedication he played the song that was requested and then they told the story. It was from a Lisa to a man in Romania. Thats the only glitch I heard today. I love it!!!!!! I am in Top 40 Heaven!!!!!!!

It looks like the issue heard earlier today on a LDD and then others tonight were all with the April 1979 date. Sounds like, as you said, in trying to cut the files down into individual songs to add the artist/title info, they didn't put it back in order.
An easy fix though...just drop John Clay a note a seventies@xmradio.com and they'll get it straightened out.
They were trying to go above and beyond for the XM fanbase and AT40 listeners by not just playing the program segments, but by adding the additional info. If you listen to XM a lot, you're like me and you get spoiled by the song/artist info LOL

Heh... listening to the 3/11/78 show, and just got a randomly inserted track from 1/15/72 ("Let's Stay Together") before #15. It's almost as if I'm listening to AT40 on my local station.

Same thing just happened again at the end of I Go Crazy by Paul Davis, #8 on 3/11/78. That's okay, I'm still loving every minute of this, brings back lots of good memories.

I have been taping the 80s channel since the inception, using partly my stereo & cassette decks thru the equalizer & the old VCR for my sleep cycles. I've only missed a lil bit, I think it was an early 80s show yesterday where one of the tapes ended. I found out I can't tape the 70s channel on directv cuz those XM chanels require a subscription to Total Choice Plus, leaving the Total Choice subs out in the cold. foooey.

listening to the 6/23/79 show is bringing back so many memories for me. One of the biggeset thing I am enjoying about this whole experience is that I get to hear songs I have never heard before. I have known of their exsistence, but have never heard them.

The 70's one was going totally nuts with the 1972 show very early this morning. The tracks were all out of order, they would play Casey's outro to a song, like "Got to Be There" then he would intro another song, and THEN "Got to Be There" would play. I think it might have also been going backwards with the numbers, counting up instead of down, but it was tough to tell since none of the right tracks were played together. I have no idea if they ever got it fixed, or if it was like that for the whole show, since I fell asleep. It was kind of fun to listen to though, hearing Casey say "here's Donny Osmond" followed by a Three Dog Night song or something like that.

I caught the same sequence and eventually went to bed - it was like there were two shows, 3/11/78 and 1/15/72, somehow on the same playlist and someone hit the 'random play' button...and couldn't get it fixed

I heard the same thing on the 72 show. Seemed like they were jumping from the 30's to the teens and back, then all of a sudden they're at #2. All the songs got played, just WAYYYY out of order. Still having a blast listening. I'm fixated on the '70's channel even though I did most of my AT40 listening from 1980-on.

Yes the 1/15/72 show was totally backward. First time I ever heard AT40 counted down in reverse lol. I know XM is working out some kinks and they will get it fixed for future shows.

Talk about added value to my Direc TV subscription! This is awesome, I just wish my DirecTivo could record the music channels.
