Looks like January 20, 1979 is on tap for this weekend. Funny how SXM, like Premiere, gives us both 1971 and 1979 in the same week (though a different part of 1971). Assuming this is so, Sirius XM subscribers really don't need to bother seeking out the Premiere B show.

Wheel of Casey this week: June 12, 1971. That wheel seems to be heavily weighted on the early part of the decade.

"A Man I'll Never Be" got a major hatchet job on this show. Seemed like barely two minutes. Right before all 8+ minutes of "American Pie".

Great show from the middle of that great summer, with un-'bleeped' Isleys!

Wheel of Casey: January 22, 1977. (Listen to this and there’s not much need to hear this weekend’s Premiere B show.)

A couple of comments about the 2/2/1974 countdown:
I'm glad Casey played the Gordon Sinclair rendition of "Americans" instead of the more successful Byron MacGregor rendition. (Yes, there are a few of us that actually like that spoken-word record.) Mr. Sinclair"s delightfully gruff, curmudgeon-like delivery sounds more down-to-earth and authentic. Furthermore, since Mr. Sinclair actually wrote the editorial and was the first to deliver it on-air, he is the only one who had the authority to record it. He was relaying his personal experiences when he referred to following the news for sixty years and being in Paris when the locals were badmouthing Americans. Byron MacGregor wasn't in Paris at the time and wasn't born until years after Mr. Sinclair started following the news. Therefore, Mr. MacGregor doesn't sound very credible reciting Mr. Sinclair's piece word-for-word. Secondly, probably for the first time ever, I heard the full-length version of Stevie Wonder's hit "Living For The City". Boy, does it get tense, dramatic, and angry in the last few minutes of the song, with the re-creation of the guy getting arrested, tried, and sent to prison, followed by Stevie downright growling the last verse! And the SiriusXM censors were asleep at the controls, because they let the N-word slip past! Maybe SiriusXM is less strict than Premiere; I can't imagine Premiere leaving THAT word in the show.

I honestly don’t think the people at SXM even listen to the show. Based on how they used to butcher the show, to the point that some of the edits made the show sound very stupid, and the crack research they do for their own 80’s show. They have more or less stopped editing the show like they used to, and at this point I think they just air it as they receive it.
