I know I feel much condescendence about people who are obviously bitter about life and look for some scapegoat to vent their frustrations. So hip-hop it is! After all, most of it is made by minorities, right? Easy target! Populist nuts-stirring like no other. You know what? In great hip-hop fashion of telling it like it is: f**k y'all!

Actually, Lil Wayne's new one, "How To Love", is quite good and not at all what you would expect him to put out. You should look forward to that one.

I don't like Lil Wayne much (he's screwed Rochester NY over a few times by no showing for concerts) But I will give him, that he's one of the artists who will do different things and use real instruments.

Lil Wayne's busses were just getting in at 5:30 when I got there. Played in Hartford the previous night. Battling traffic on 95 in and around NYC, NJ and DC is a bear and I just did that over the 4th of July weekend. Hardly anybody over the age of 25 attended. And about 60% of them were female. So it was easy on the eyes.

Yeah, because Jersey Shore is EXACTLY what I think of when someone says MTV.
Of course if MTV itself did anything special like show videos, it would confuse anyone under the age of 20.
Hey, remember when all VH1 Classic showed was videos?

Hey, remember when all VH1 Classic showed was videos? They still do show a block of 80s videos. I caught some about a week ago. But they also movies some which make no sense like Spaceballs which has nothing to do with music. They also show the old Pop Up Video. Which is coming back this fall with new episodes on VH1.

Yeah, because Jersey Shore is EXACTLY what I think of when someone says MTV. The "M" stands for "moronic", right?

I saw the first hour of MTV at the Museum of TV and Radio in NYC a few years ago. Complete with the original commercials (I'm guessing the VH-1 Classic showing doesn't have those).

They actually kept the original commercials intact as well as the technical difficulties.

I watched it today as well. A few odd videos but they had a commercial for Superman 2 IN THEATERS! as well as CHEWELS GUM! Loved every minute and wish that they had replayed the entire first day!
