An interesting thing I noticed about the vinyl record:
The show date was something in January of 1970, which obviously does not work for two main reasons:
(1) There was no AT40 in January 1970! (2) The show was not distributed on vinyl in the beginning.
It looks as if they simply changed the "Air Date" to make it look like it was from '70, again, something everyone but us would not realize at all!

The LP copy of an AT40 program displayed was from late 1978 or 1979, based on the font used on the label for the air date. It appeared and disappeared so quickly that I missed the date. But I did notice that the year was slightly distorted or illegible. Perhaps someone recorded the VH1 program and can confirm the AT40 date and/or program number.

I wouldnt have added that at all. It wasnt a promo for the show, it was a recap of 1970. The Gremlin segment was awesome too. I disagree...if they're going to mention Ryan as the new host of AT40, then they should mention Casey's current shows. Ryan's hosting of AT40 was a 2004 event, not a 1970 event. I raise you another disagree They were discussing AT40, so ,mentioning it is still going and is now hosted by Ryan makes sense. Mentioning two shows (AT10 and AT20) most of the audience has no idea about and honestly doesn't care about isn't something they are going to do. It isn't like either show is available in most markets anyway.

I caught an encore presentation of the VH1 1970 program. The AT40 LP displayed was program number 791-2 --- that's the show from January 13, 1979. After learning this information, I know everyone visiting this string will sleep better tonight.

well, maybe that would have been the case, but I am listening to Motorhead's "Enter Sandman" right now so maybe not.

You mean Metallica, right, Paul? Or did Motorhead cover it?
