NOTES:
- Shadoe was said to be "on vacation" this week.
- This week's promos weren't included, but they are listed on the cue sheet, and both they and Donny's show opening refer to Aerosmith's "Janie's Got a Gun" in recaps of the top of last week's chart, even though it was #4 last week rather than #3. Why the switcheroo, I wonder?
- Donny put in a dig at Michael Damian, pointing out that it was his "Rock On" that kept Donny's "Soldier of Love" out of #1 last year.
- "Free Fallin' " received the standard jingle. (By the way, I turned it black since blue's not very readable here. )
- Hmmm...looks like Donny was paying attention to the chart movement this week. Or maybe it was Dr. Robert Durkee (who, by the way, was also the "birthday boy" this week) doing that for him...
- #1 on the Black Singles chart: "It's Gonna Be Alright" by Ruby Turner
- #1 on the Dance chart: "I'll Be Good to You" by Quincy Jones with Chaka Khan & Ray Charles
- #1 on the Country chart: "On Second Thought" by Eddie Rabbitt (his last #1)
- #1 on the Album chart: Forever Your Girl by Paula Abdul
Donny seemed like he was trying to be very...careful at the mic this week. I got a "cautious" vibe from him throughout the show.
By the way, as Donny mentioned, Rob Durkee has a birthday this week. No idea which day, but...happy birthday in any case! ;D
Also, a happy early birthday to Mr. jdelachjr on the 21st.
