On a related topic, I believe the biggest fall out of the top 40 occurred when "Even the Nights Are Better" by Air Supply fell from #6 to #42 on the Hot 100 in 1982. If this dropped 36 spots, wouldn't this actually be possibly the biggest dropper in chart history?

To be fair, on AT40 Flashback he would say things like "this is the original broadcast from 15 years ago" for a show from 1986 or something to that effect and would still be heard in 2005 when 15 years ago would put it in 1990.
But back to the original question, I believe I remember reading ATH had ceased production when AT10/AT20 were still on the air. I could be mistaken about that though.

From what I read in this thread, the extras would need to be from other years because all they play for a countdown is 1986. That's the only way they can keep the show as fresh as a retro countdown can be.

Ok, I actually thought the 70's was largely ignored as I never had a 70's dominated station in any market I lived in in the 90's or 2000's. They were either classic rock or Hot AC which had emphasis on more than just that decade.

Does Rick or anyone announce before the show starts what year/date they are airing or are you just left to guess?

With so few stations playing the 80s shows, is there any danger that the show will end soon? Tons of stations carry the 70s, but not the 80s. I'm just curious if anybody knows and why so few stations carry it. While I have no real insider knowledge of the situation, I doubt it. As we get further and further from the 80's I would assume you will see more stations focusing on the decade popping up, at least for the next 10-20 years. As this happens, the number of affiliates playing AT40: The 80's will likely go up.

I am trying to program Total Recorder to record a media player stream, but every time it runs a box pops up that I have to click "open" on for it to play the station. Is there a setting I can change in either internet explorer or windows media player so the programs will start automatically and not pop that box up?

Hopefully I have found a replacement for the Sunday morning airing, and I REALLY hope KLCH or whatever the call letters are that run it later Sunday night keeps it on forever.

Apparently as of today, Magic 97.9 and WKIM axed AT40 the 80's. Magic 97.9 is instead airing....music. WKIM has switched to the GenX format.
I use Nenad's site to find the show, but I am really getting more and more irritated. I usually record the show from 5 stations a week to ensure I get it. I never expected to be down to possibly 3 in one week. And to make matters worse, I have had problems with one of the other streams this week, and cut off the one last night to do something else on the computer figuring I had 3 other recordings coming today.
I use Nenad's site to find the show at various times and make sure via their website they are still airing the show, but it's becoming fewer and fewer, the show gets removed from stations with no warning, and it is getting really irritating.

I will also post this in the 80's thread if it's not already there. Magic 97.9 and WKIM have apparently axed AT40 the 80's in favor of nothing but music and the GenX format respectively.

I am listening to the 1971 show from this week now and just heard Casey recite the first verse of "Amazing Grace." I am now convinced someone in the early 70's should have asked him to do one of those "read through the Bible" audio sets.

I am (Michael Karns of Gaithersburg, Maryland). I guess I missed this thread originally. I tried to add you, but there are several Michael Karnes and no location to identify you with.
