Sad to hear this and from fans and fellow musicians he was one of the greatest drummers of all time. Neil Peart passed on from brain cancer (Glioblastoma) on Tuesday at the age of 67 and really had a long successful career with Rush that was formed in 1974. www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/neil-peart-obit-1.5422806

A huge loss for Gen-X rock fans.

Nice to hear a few bars of "Limelight" going into the commercial break of the football game on NBC. They typically play a few bars of a 70s or 80s song going into breaks.

Didn't realize that Neil wrote a lot of Rush classics such as "Tom Sawyer" & "Free Will"-He was rather talented to say the least.

Speaking of "Limelight", fellow Canadian Lawrence Gowan of Styx paid tribute to Neil at their concert in Phoenix . Neil Peart TributeI never knew Gowan was a member of Styx. Did he replace Dennis DeYoung? As a Canadian like myself, I enjoy the music of Rush, especially with the unique voice of Geddy Lee on vocals. I especially enjoy "Limelight", "Free Will", "The Spirit of Radio", "Tom Sawyer", "Closer to the Heart", and "New World Man", among all their hits. Not a fan of "Time Stand Still" myself, probably due to being from a rough period in 1987 for me, which ended at the start of 1988. I even like "Take Off" with Bob and Doug MacKenzie, which has Geddy Lee on backup vocals.

An abridged version of "Take Off" reached the top twenty in early 1982-That's a certifiable classic.
