I wonder what Top Ten during the 1970-1988 Era had the most artists making their only appearances in the Top Ten with those songs?
What made me think of this was seeing Mauriat, Lemon Pipers, Fred, Redding, Human Beinz, Boyce&Hart with 6 of 10 in Feb 1968. That seems like a lot.

Amazing but true that Otis Redding had only one top 10 pop hit (we all know what it was). And posthumously at that. His next highest-charting songs hit #21 pop, one in '65 and the other in '69.

On 10/9/76, the Top 4 songs were by Walter Murphy, Wild Cherry, Boz Scaggs & Rick Dees.
Boz Scaggs had 6 Top 10 songs on the R&R chart, but only "Low Down" made Billboard's Top 10.

The very first At40 featured these 4 songs in the Top 10--(July 11, 1970)--
#10--Hitchin' A Ride--Vanity Fare #6--Lay Down--Melanie w/Edwin Hawkins Singers (I know that both of these had Top 10 hits on their own but this was their only Top 10 team up) #5--Band Of Gold-Freda Payne #4--Ride, Captain, Ride--Blues Image
Also one month later--August 1970--
#10--O-o-o-h Child--The Five Stairsteps #7--Tighter, Tighter--Alive & Kicking #5--Band Of Gold-Freda Payne #4--Spill The Wine-Eric Burdon & War (yes they both had Top 10 hits separately but this was their only team up to make the Top 10)
