Eddie "Chank" Willis, guitarist for the Motown house band The Funk Brothers, passed away August 20 in his home in Gore Springs, Mississippi. Eddie had contracted polio as a child, and its complications led to his passing. He joined Motown in 1959, and was the guitarist on over 25 number 1 hits. His style was muted, adding tone and texture to hundreds of hit songs. In 2010, he recorded with Phil Collins on his Motown covers album "Going Back", and was a part of the ceremonies when the Funk Brothers received their star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in 2013. Honoring Eddie with his work on this Motown classic. I Was Made To Love Her - Stevie WonderObituary
