Y'know one thing I don't like about the way 'product' is counted these days is that streaming and/or watching is considered 'purchasing'. I wonder does the artist benefit from someone watching or streaming their music (monetarily, I mean). However, in the case of the two albums in question, Eagles Greatest Hits Volume 1 and Thriller by Michael Jackson, my guess would be that most of the sales 'counted' are for physical products or legitimate downloads some one bought.

Neither of these albums are the biggest selling album of all time. That honor goes to Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd, which has sold about 45 million copies, beating the 38 million of Eagles Greatest Hits 1971-1975 and the 33 million of Thriller.

I would venture to guess that, in worldwide sales, Thriller tops them all by a good margin. While the Eagles and Pink Floyd no doubt were popular the world over, Michael Jackson achieved much higher international appeal, reaching a pinnacle that the other bands never came close to.
