Along the same lines as this thread, what Top 40 hits begin and end with the same word? The best one I can think of is "Ghostbusters" (you can guess what word it begins and ends with).

"Lady" by Kenny Rogers begins and ends with its title:
First line: Lady, I'm your knight in shining armor, and I love you. Last line: You're the love of my life, you're my lady.

Here's another possibility... "Jane" by Jefferson Starship":
First line: "Jane, you say it's all over for you and me, girl" The song ends with the band singing, "Jane, Jane, Jane"
Would this count?

^I believe that would indeed count, as long as no ad lib words are thrown in before the fade.
I wonder if there are any Top 40 songs that begin and end with the same word other than the song title like the above three songs.

Hey... I thought of another song which would work here... "Rock & Roll (Part 2) by Gary Glitter: The first word uttered in this song? "Hey!" The last word uttered in this sing? "Hey!" Hey, this song does fit the title of this thread .

Does Madonna's "VOGUE" count?

Does Madonna's "VOGUE" count? I don't believe so, because most of the versions I've heard start out with the line "What are you looking at?" (in the single edit, it is a little ways into the song). Another version starts out with "Strike a pose", but I don't think there are any versions whose lyrics begin with "Vogue, vogue" being whispered.

Hey, this song does fit the title of this thread . I think so. And it's about time someone found an example where the first and last word aren't the title.
