Back in the 70's, 80's and 90's, you would get 51 print issues a year for Billboard.
The only week skipped was the last week of the year when Billboard published their Year End issue.
Those were the good old days, I guess.
Looking at the most recent copy of Billboard (Nov 11th), here is their publication schedule:
"Published weekly except for two issues in January, March, May, July, August, September, and November; three issues in February, April, June, October and December"
If you do the math:
(2 issues times 7 months) + (3 issues times 5 months) = 14 + 15 = 29 issues total
52 weeks minus 29 issues = 23 weeks with no print issue (almost half a year).
When Record Research creates their DVD of HOT 100 charts for the 2010 decade, they will need to add in a lot of missing weeks of Billboard.

I received a subscription invite in the mail this past week for two years for $169.37, which is $2.57 per issue according to Billboard. That divides out to 66 issues or 33 per year. My check is not in the mail.

No surprise that they are printing fewer and fewer issues every year. I'd imagine most of their readers get their info through the website nowadays.
