Rock & Roll pioneer Antoine "Fats" Domino has passed away at the age of 89 after a lengthy illness-He reached the pop & soul charts with a plethora of bonafide classics including "Ain't That A Shame","I'm Walkin","Whole Lotta Lovin","Let The Four Winds Blow" & the song that became his trademark "Blueberry Hill"-Paul Mc Cartney has cited Domino as a major influence-As a matter of fact,The Beatles 1968 hit "Lady Madonna" was written as an homage to his musical genius-Interestingly enough,Domino recorded his own version of "Lady Madonna" a few months later & it became his final entry on the pop charts-RIP,Fats,we'll miss you.

Supposedly Van Morrison's "Domino" was also a tribute to Fats as well.
RIP. Another 50s pioneer gone. Hope he found his thrill.

I had forgotten that "Domino" was written about Fats-It reached the top ten towards the end of 1970.
