In 1975, Pete Wingfield had a Top 20 hit called, "Eighteen With A Bullet". It is one of the most amazing songs that I have ever heard. A couple of footnotes to this song:
1. On November 22, 1975, Eighteen with A Bullet was No. 18 with a bullet on AT40.
2. It sounds like a song that came out during the 1950's.

This song also peaked at number eighteen on the R&R chart. Unfortunately, since it was running out of gas at that point, it did not have a bullet. If I were the editor at the paper, I would have stretched the rules a bit and given that song a bullet just for the fun of it. But, seeing as I was only three and a half back then, I wouldn't have made a very good editor - LOL!

Pete Wingfield may be a OHW as aperformer but he produced the top ten 1990 hit for Paul Young "Oh Girl".

wasn't the record at #18 on all the trade charts at the time? Billboard, Cashbox and Record World? Always struck me as being, well let's just say, a little convenient

For the week of 11/22/75, it was #18 with a bullet in both Billboard and Cash Box, and #19 with a bullet in both Record World and Radio & Records.

So, here is the full text of Mellow Casey's intro from the 11/22/75 show, playing now on SiriusXM 70's on 7:
"Didn't ya just know this would happen? Here's a case where the chart position and the song title are one and the same. At #18 with a bullet, here's...that's right...'Eighteen with a Bullet,' and movin' up. Pete Wingfield."

In college, I wrote a music column for the school newspaper called...that's right..."18 with a Bullet."

This song was played as an optional extra at some point and I believe Larry mentioned what a "bullet" meant.
