Not sure what is more surprising...not getting even close to the top 10 on the soul chart or not even bubbling under on the Hot 100 for Shalamar. That could arguably be called their signature song.

Heard that SOS Band song and not long after, returned to hearing the 7/18/87 show I was listening to and specifically, "The Pleasure Principle", my fave song on Janet's Control album. Not much between those two Jimmy and Terry produced songs. Not hitting the top 10 as Janet did with all her other Control singles is one thing. But not hitting the top 40 is ridiculous.

Yeah, it definitely should've made AT40. And speaking of 1987, Expose's "Let Me Be The One", which did make AT40, had to have been inspired by "Just Be Good To Me".

Wasn't "The Pleasure Principle" the only song on the "Control" project NOT to be written and produced by Harris & Lewis? But, Monte Moir *was* another member of The Time.
