I liked the ACC Archive feature with ACC Calendar being wherever on the show. I hate dedications regardless of the show.

Wait, 1996 again this week? Either the show they may have planned did not remaster in time, or there may have been a guest host for the planned show. April 13, 1996 is what they are featuring, but will the female voiceover say this week in '96? They haven't fixed (both the CT40/actual airing) on the this week in '94 as yet...

No complaints here with 1996 - hopefully the female voiceover is fixed though. Looking at my tally, the late 1990s are due, particularly 1999 - 4/18/1998 has already aired, and 1997 was recent. We have a predictions thread with the AT40 70s and 80s shows, and I'll start by throwing out mine for next weekend: 4/17/1999.

I was wonderin' how I could hear a local ad, while listenin' to the stream from Chattanooga. I live in the Chicago area. Was that TuneIn that ran it? Dunno.

The CT40 site has fixed it to the right ACC Rewind year. Meanwhile here is another aircheck that was featured on the rewind show a few years ago, minus the first hour, from July 26, 1997. This is why I think they really need to give us the first hour and make it optional...

Got on tonight, to the country chart archives section. It's back up, for right now, so, no need to go to American radio history. Maybe the chart archives will be available, for a good long while.

Here's also the recent aircheck from the Bowman era from April 13, 1974 (without scoped ads at the time). Later in that era he cooled it down but touring became an issue. I take it you're talking about politically-incorrect one-liners, some of which were pretty mean. Brian

Bowman was awful until sometime in 76 when he stopped having one liners after every single song. The first few months, prior to Bob Kingsley becoming producer, were notable as Bowman didn't seem to have a filter. But he did truly love the music, and when he got serious he did really good. An example was the 1975 B-sides special: No jokes or time-dared topical comments; it could be aired anytime in the future (as a special or to have on-hand as "emergency" special (much like what AT40 affiliates were encouraged to do with their specials ... keep them as emergency filler in case they didn't get their usual weekly program). At least it's not another 1996 show for three weeks in a row...
This week they are rewinding back to April 18, 1992, about three months since the last time 1992 was aired. In fact, maybe they should have went with 1992 last week...

As we close in on three years of the series so far, this week's show is from April 24, 1999 where the charts really began to slow down.
Let's see whether if next month will begin the start of 2015 repeated shows that can be eligible if they do it like Premiere, bearing in mind that there are still a lot of new shows left in the can as well.

Right in sync with the current date for this week - May 5, 2001 is the show featured (lots of song lookalikes as jingles coming in and out of the breaks by this point). Now only if 2002-2005 can be reinstated...
Meanwhile, here's an aircheck that was posted last week on YouTube that features the chart week of November 11, 1989 and has the 1989 music/jingle package by then.

The show date from 40 years ago today, was when Bob took over, for the fired Don Bowman.

And the rest was history after that, but tour scheduling was the reason Bowman stopped doing the show. Kingsley is still going strong for CT40 to this day though...

The rare case of consecutive 2000s years happens to be present this week, as they are featuring May 13, 2000 on the rewind show. Maybe they will bring back the 2002-05 shows soon?
Speaking of 2002-05 that hopefully will return soon, an aircheck of December 7, 2002 is up for enjoyment.

Wow, they let that closing theme (which was changed by 4/22/00) run pretty much all the way through this week unlike many of the other weeks they have run the show.
