Why would you use 30-40 year old jingles on a show that needs to sound contemporary? Look, both of us know there's a snowball's chance that would actually happen -- using old jingles for a current show. But I think that the meat of the show -- presenting the top 30 country songs of the week in an entertaining way -- to me matters the most, not necessarily the theme song or commercial jingles or anything. But again, I doubt they'll ever use a retro sound for a current show. Just like there's less than zero chance of the current commercial bumpers being used for an episode that might have only older country hits, I suppose. (They haven't done one of those types of specials in years anyway.) Brian

Well, perhaps the recent aircheck from August 28, 1999 (also ran on the rewind show last August) that got posted has more modern jingles, though still old, the number jingles were in use for almost 11 years at the time.

IIRC, it was either 1993 or 1995 when the set of number jingles used here were first used. I'd have to think of when their last known appearance was. I do know that ACC has gotten long mileage out of their number jingles, however. The summer 1974 set was still in use into the late summer of 1979, and the set that replaced them continued to be used until a couple of weeks into the first four-hour shows in early February 1986. I think they first used it around February 1995 when the 1995 theme came into use.
Even though we are into February, they are still out of sync chart wise as January 31, 1998 is this week's show. Tuning in to WOGT this week due to WLAW conducting a program test (XDS) internet wise.

Listening to the Rewind stream on CT40. Both the first segments of hours 3 and 4 are missing, and the last segments of hours 2 and 3 are followed by a super long commercial run. Just heard the same commercial four times in a row during the run.

Yeah, it doesn't appear that they have improved the stream at all based on the comments on FB, saying that the steam is worse than it is now.
Anyway, this week's show finally now gets to February, and is from February 12, 2000 (listening on WOGT again). From what I know, the bumper music is still a mix of 1995/1998 themes mainly as of this point and the 2000 theme still hasn't been introduced yet.
Edit: The ACC Calendar is also the same jingle theme from 1995 as well.

Yeah, I don't know what happened this week. The stream was fine last week, in its first full week since the switchover. Even the CT40 stream has long commercial breaks at times, though I don't think any segments are missing.

I noticed that an edited version of 'Heart is a lonely hunter' was played. Original broadcast, or Cumulus edit? Dunno.

They seem to also be cutting off end-of-hour themes on some shows, personally I'd like to leave them intact like Premiere would do (although some stations would cut early) for their AT40 shows.
At least the airchecks don't cut off EOH themes... here's 10/24/87 again as an aircheck. Maybe the rewind show should expand years to include 80s shows, or at least by May 1978 onward.

ACC Rewind stream is flawless this week. And I'd be in favor of 80s shows (or even going back to 5/6/1978). I suppose that'd be outside of the target audience. It's hard getting old(er)!

I do agree that they should expand as well too, but that would be up to them to make the call.
Anyway, this week they are going back to February 18, 1995, and it does appear that this is the last show with the 1993 music package (though they added new bumper jingles in 1994 while retaining the 1989/1993 ones as well). I think next week the new music package, and new number jingles came into use (which had three variants) that would be retained through the rest of the Kingsley era (the music package would be changed more times after that).

New shows keep on coming, and February 23, 1991 is this week's show. I think they are also avoiding most of the first half of 1990 up until at least no later than June (wouldn't hurt to air one soon at some point)

Graig, Cumulus is still a week behind the chart week date, though.

Graig, Cumulus is still a week behind the chart week date, though. Yeah, they still haven't been syncing in the chart date ever since Billboard switched their rule at the start of this year. And it looks like WLAW dropped the show too as I didn't see them air the show that morning unless if they moved the show to another time slot, WOGT is still keeping the show on for now in the morning.
