Wow, looks like we got 1999 after all at the last minute this year, from December 25, 1999. Yes I know the chart week ending date is on Christmas Day, but the chart used to be compiled within 7-10 days back then. This one is a regular show and the last one for 1999, and it has yet to be featured since August until now.
This one has no Christmas theme on the calendar salute and uses the newer ACC Calendar jingle (1995 version) like it was the case in 1993, but used the 1993 jingle. It may have been featured last week but that was guest hosted that week. I have also noticed that the Charis Music Group site has been updated for more cue sheets and available to show later years (some links don't work at the moment). This week's show has no cue sheet available, but hopefully more will surface in the future...

I dunno whose idea it was, for WYOT radio to move up the start of ACC Rewind, to 10 A central, Sunday mornings, but, I DON'T like it!

It would have to be the management at that station that makes the call. Well at least it's there but a more comfortable slot where it was before would have been nice...

Agreed, Graig. It was perfect, in the 4PM central slot.

As it is Christmas Day today, it's time for a Christmas aircheck special that has just been posted, featuring the Christmas In America show from 2000. ACC used to do those specials from 1989-2005 when Kingsley did it for 6 hours, and while it is now American Country Christmas today, CT40 continues to do the Christmas In America in its original format like ACC.

As per usual when the year ends, we have a treat that a year-end show be featured on the rewind show. This time it features the Top 100 songs of 1993 (although featuring the last three hours, and some number jingles + dialogue have been probably edited out by WW1). While this did originally air on January 1, 1994, it should be regarded as a 1993 show since the songs were all from 1993 (with a few from late 1992) and none were from 1994. This was the last year out of the few years they exclusively used what Billboard calculated for their year-end survey, similar to how AT40 used Billboard exclusively for various years before implementing their own method to calculate as they indicated that some #1 songs were ranked lower or off the charts (though still played in the montage, if ranked on the year-end survey that year). Today these charts go very slow and in some cases songs take so long to reach its peak destination. A cue sheet as well on this one here for the full chart: charismusicgroup.com/ACC%20Cue%20Sheets/01-01-94.pdf

The sex drive commercials need to be eliminated. ACC has always been a family-friendly show.

On this show, we found out how Dous Stone chose his stage name: From a song he wrote, called 'Heart of stone'.

Wow, after they played the #1 song of 1993, WSM-FM (95.5) plays it again at the top of the hour (WOGT did not).

The CT40 site in the recent update says this week in 1994, and while it technically is since it aired on 1/1/1994, there were no songs from 1994, with the majority from 1993 and a few from 1992. This can be debatable on which year this year-end show belongs to as some it aired on the following calendar year. I would consider this a 1993 show.

And not all of those in radio share the same professional beliefs as he does. There is no one specific “one-size-fits-all” template that works at all stations. As long as local radio is taking care of their listeners’ needs unique to the market, I believe they’ve succeeded. Brian
