After the year-end shows wrapped up, they started playing the AT40 specials. Not sure which order they're going in, but I think I can piece it together based on what I've seen in the comment section: Since the Top 100 of 1987 started at 8:50 (or so), that means that it reached into the early hours of today. After that: Top 40 Newcomers of the 1980s (5/27/1988) Top 50 Hits of the 1970s (1/5/1980) Top 40 Acts of the 1970s (7/1/1978) Top 40 Songs of the Disco Era (7/7/1979) As I post this, they're up to #34 on the Top 40 acts special (The Captain & Tennille). I'm off all day today, so I'll update this from time to time as the shows are played. UPDATE: As I listen to #4, "Close To You" by The Carpenters (the #1 act on the first Top 40 Acts of the 70s they did back in 1974), it just occurred to me that, as they go back and forth between the 70s and 80s like they do regularly, they might be doing the special shows, starting with the latest and going backwards. They did not play the Triathlon of Rock & Roll, but that could be because that show has so far not been featured on the AT40: The 80s. If my guess is correct, then next up would be the Top 40 Hits of the 80s (so far), which was originally run on July 4, 1987 and has been played on the AT40: The 80s series. EDIT: I just checked the list and saw that they did, in fact, run the Triathlon special, back on Memorial Day, 2015. Perhaps they'll play that one next, or perhaps they're just running random special shows until it's time to go back to the year-end marathon (since I seem to remember seeing that they'll be re-running that show around the New Year). EDIT: Well, they're doing the Top 40 Hits of the Disco era now. Looks like they could just be playing the last few Special shows of each decade, and starting the year-end marathon tomorrow. EDIT: As stated below by BrettVW, the disco show cut off at the beginning of the final hour and went back to the Newcomers show, followed by the Top 50 of the 1970s. My guess is that they'll do the Top 40 Acts of the 1970s special next, then the Disco special, hopefully without the hiccup that caused it to go back the beginning of the series of specials.

The Disco show just cut off early, after # 9. The Top 40 Newcomers of the 80s show from 1988 took over

They were running the top 50 songs of the 70's,then dropped the last hour to start the top acts of the 70's special from '78.

Looks like they began the year-end marathon a little earlier than I figured they would.

Did they switch (or eliminate)KPEZ and switch the HD2 of WMMX? The bumpers on iHeart used to say KPEZ and now say WMMX...

I'm having an interesting time listening to this channel.
Does the "?autoplay=true" token still have to be attached to the URL to get it to start? 'Cuz otherwise it won't do beans for me! (Firefox 57, thanks for asking...)
I'd have to use the 'SCAN' button to cycle through the likes of WILD, IHeart70s, IHeart80s, Ryan, Spin Cycle, Radio Nick, and Radio Disney just to get to Casey! #OyVey

Is it true the iHeart Classic AT40 channel now does AT40 70's/80's shows random or a few times the same decade in a row? As I am listening 9/3/1983 was completed (a 1980's AT40 show) and now 8/4/1984 (also a 1980's AT40 show) is playing on the iHeart Classic At40 channel!

It appears someone has decided to shift the programming to play more 80's shows. Instead of always alternating between the two decades, they are occasionally playing three 80's shows in a row. It's disappointing if you prefer to listen to the 70's shows. I've noticed some of the listeners are really starting to complain about it on the Iheart chat board.

When did the iHeartRadio Classic AT40 channel stop playing the OPTIONAL EXTRA segments that were part of the AT40 70's/80's show rotations?
