Does Falco´s "Rock me Amadeus" count as well ? I think someone mentioned earlier in the thread that it seems to be more spoken word than rap. Another "more spoken word than rap" song from 1990: "Jerk Out" by The Time.

In 1986, there was an embarrassing rap (or spoken word segment) at the end of "The Rain" by Oran "Juice" Jones. "Cornflake without the milk."

In 1986, there was an embarrassing rap (or spoken word segment) at the end of "The Rain" by Oran "Juice" Jones. "Cornflake without the milk." Yes! Though I thought it was great instead of embarrassing. When he says, "I gave you silk suits, blue diamonds, and Gucci handbags...I gave you things you couldn't even pronounce"! I still laugh to this day at that. The "spoken word" part did lead to at least three response songs. It was also parodied by Donald Glover/Childish Gambino on SNL this year with Glover playing "Raz P. Berry".

The spoken word part of the rain was IMO the best part of the song. It irked me whenever they faded the song out before even getting to that part (I seem to recall that AT40 did that a time or two).
