Since many AT40 - The 70s and 80s stations have been featuring Christmas songs for awhile now, I thought it might be fun to see what everyone's Christmas songs are. For this thread...
* Any Christmas song featured on a Christmas AT40 show could be mentioned (even songs older than 1970). * Any Christmas song which charted on AT40 from 1970 on could be included. * Any Christmas song by an artist to hit AT40 can be highlighted. For example, "Step Into Christmas" by Elton John never hit the Hot 100 but could be featured here as Elton John has had many AT40 hits.
I don't think I could pick just one favorite song but these three would make up my top "pop" Christmas songs. In chronological order:
* "Father Christmas" by The Kinks (released in 1977) * "It's Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" by U2 (released circa 1985) * "Christmas All Over Again" by Tom Petty (released in 1992)
These songs get some airplay but aren't in super heavy rotation... I think that's why they are still high on my list.

My favourite was Bob & Doug McKenzie's hilarious rendition of the "12 Days of Christmas". Of course, they had their very own AT40 hit with "Take Off".

Winter Wonderland - Eurythmics (this one gets played on Casey's AT10 holiday shows)
There are some singers I really enjoy whose Christmas singles I can't stand, such as "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" by Bruce Springsteen and "Santa Baby" by Madonna.

Even though they never made AT40, my favorite Christmas song is by Wizzard: Roy Wood was a founding member of ELO, does that count?
