I've decided to start a new thread called Song Dates--these were days that I had a certain song going through my mind. Here are the October 14 song dates of the past--there's some good ones!0
*In 1968, I had the Dionne Warwick song "Who Is Gonna Love Me" going through my mind, but I can't remember the date--some warm early fall day, probably toward the middle of the week. I may also have had the Moody Blues' "Tuesday Afternoon" going through my mind as well, but Justin Hayward's b-day was a Monday in '68.
1972 Nights in White Satin-Moody Blues (Oct. 14 is Justin Hayward's b-day, but I didn't know it until years later!0 1977 Greatest Love of All-George Benson 1978 It's a Laugh-Hall & Oates 1983 Far from Over-Frank Stallone 1987 Doing It All for My Baby-Huey Lewis & the News 1990 And So It Goes-Billy Joel

I thought that I had posted the Oct. 18 song dates, but I will have to wait until 2015, 2016, etc. because I only post the current date. That means that Feb. 29 will have to wait until 2016 for obvious reasons!
Here is Oct. 19:
Note: I had Gary Puckett & the Union Gap's "Over You" going through my mind sometime in October 1968 because it was my favorite song at the time.
1974 So You Are a Star-Hudson Brothers 1978 Like a Sunday in Salem-Gene Cotton (I remember hanging out in a local record store that afternoon, telling a record store clerk that I thought that the song had top-five potential. The clerk said that the thought that it would reach the top 20. We were both way too optimistic--it stalled at #40!) 1980 Xanadu-Olivia Newton-John/ELO (Trekkielo's fave) 1981 I've Done Everything for You-Rick Springfield (SLF's favorite song--NOT!0 1994 Cantalooop-US3 2001 Fallin'-Alicia Keys 2004 Bare Bones-Jody Kessler 2007 Radio Nowhere-Bruce Springsteen

Here is the rundown for Oct. 29--I remember this date way back because it was my sister's b-day. I may have had the Toys hit "Lover's Concerto" going through my mind this date in 1965 and possibly "Walk Away Renee," by Left Banke, a year later. For 1967, it may have been the Tijuana Brass's "A Banda." In 1969 the lucky song may have been Peggy Lee's "Is That All There Is."
These are the ones that I know for sure:

SONG DATES FOR HALLOWEEN
In 1962, I may have had Bobby Pickett's "Monster Mash" on my mind, but I was too young to remember vocal songs too well. The most Halloweenish song of October 1963 would probably be the Jaynetts' "Sally Go 'Round the Roses." Moving on to 1964, Lorne Greene's new song "Ringo," a mysterious story, could fit the bill. For 1965, we could have Dickey Lee's "Laurie," but that was a May hit, despite its being a ghost song. The most mysterious song in the countdown in late October of that year was Jonathan King's "Everyone's Gone to the Moon." For 1966 it would be the Byrds' "Mr. Spaceman. The following year we had the Doors' "People Are Strange." For 1968, it would be Max Frost & the Troopers' "Shape of Things to Come." In 1969 it would be Blood, Sweat & tears' "And When I Die" because of its mysterious lyrics.
Actual Halloween song dates:
1976 The Best Disco in Town-Ritchie Family 1983 PYT-Michael Jackson 1993 The River of Dreams-Billy Joel 2004 Days Go By-Keith Urban
