A quick housekeeping item... in the past week, I replaced most video links which had gone bad over the first 20 pages of this thread. And now, This Week's Lost 90s Classic... It's from Peter Wolf. This was the highest debuting song on the 2/24/90 Top Mainstream Rock Tracks chart at #21, and it would eventually peak at #9. Commentary Casey time here... the first time I heard this song in 1990 and heard Peter and bandmates sing, "NINETY-NIIIIIINE... NINETY-NINE WORRRRRLDS AWAY...", I thought to myself, "Oh jeez!" and immediately changed the channel. I thought this guy was too old to be yelling the song title at the beginning of the song. I never gave this song another chance. So when I recently clicked on the YouTube link and heard the intro, I thought, "Give this a listen, give this a listen...", and you know what? I realized I missed out on a pop-rock tune with Motown-like percussion and horns. I wonder if this song would have charted higher (and possibly made the Hot 100) had this song started at the :07 mark rather than with the yelling intro... who knows.
