The Top 50 Hits of 1982 airing Saturday 8PM-12MID on WODC will be a very interesting listen. First, it's actually Part 2 of the Top 100 Hits of 1982. It's also a non-Premiere presentation. Premiere still distributed it, but its actually the Watermark edition, complete with the old commercials on it (Parker Brothers video cartridge games, U.S. Army "Be All You Can Be" and more!). It puts you in a 1982 time capsule. And the song list is great! This is a show from the "Tribute" folder that WODC didn't get time to air during the tribute period in June-July. With a go-ahead from Premiere we are able to present it tonight. Enjoy! This was added by WODC to go along with the three available shows for the weekend. Saturday does seem like an 80s night these days on WODC! Sunday morning it's 8/29/70 from 9-12NOON. Sunday night 8-12MID it's the #1 Hits of the 1970s and Monday morning the Y2K Special. Have a fun listen to all of these shows. We are grateful to be able to honor Casey Kasem and his phenomenal work on American Top 40! All the charts are posted at www.933wodc.comAT40 gets a front page banner this weekend!

Excellent idea, thanks for sharing! I definitely plan on hearing Part 3 of the "#1 Songs of the '70s," since that's the only one I haven't heard yet.

Called board-op, he didn't catch to delete the remaining music by 8:00. It's on.

Ken Martin's production on each successive #1 Hits of the 1970s gets better and better. I thoroughly enjoyed last night's presentation. Seamless edits. Still scratching my head on how he did it. Had company over and had it blasting. Just couldn't lose with the music with every song being #1!

Had me a blast as well Mike..and Ken certainly did a fantastic job on this show. I plan to try and edit a Bee Gees (favorite group of all time) show together to really appreciate the complexity involve. Thanks to WODC and Ken for making this a great weekend. Thanks Guys!!

I agree, Ken did a great job on part 3 and it was well worth staying up to 1230 am listening to it on WODC. The Y2K special is fantastic with only 1 commercial break during hour 1 on WODC.

I wasn't happy with the Y2K special. Why? Because the songs weren't played in their entirety.

WBBG started part 2 skipping the first 9 songs...They are usually great...I remember Ken saying he had to adjust part 1 due to the fact that it ran too long. It appeared WBBG used their Memorial Day show because their last song in part 1 was Lean On Me.

Thanks statenislandfan and albe. Sunday nights before Monday holidays are the best for specials like the #1 Hits. Y2K seems to be working this morning. Sounds good for a Labor Day morning special. I can't wait for Rapper's Delight and U Can't Touch This. Those two songs reflective of the original thrill of hearing songs on AT40 that the presenting station doesn't play. I think that was the whole thing with listeners and AT40. Listeners more than programmers embraced this. And as I write the Sugarhill Gang is on!

In these days, it's great for a station like WODC to break the format (and have guts, unlike other stations) on special holiday weekends and play music that is not usually aired on their station like Rapper's Delight and U Can't Touch This. It reminds me of the old 99X days when they went off the format on certain weekends and played '60's and '70's.

Finally got to listen to the top 50 of 1982 show. It was great hearing some of the old commercials. Put a smile on my face. It was also great hearing the entire theme at the end of each hour. Because of all of this, I didn't have any problem with the lack of optional extras.
