Don Pardo, whose booming voice was heard on "Saturday Night Live" & the first incarnation of the classic game show "Jeopardy",has died at the age of 96-Pardo was the announcer on the original "Jeopardy" which was hosted by Art Fleming from 1964-1974-A year later,he was the off stage announcer on "NBC'S Saturday Night" as it was called back then-Except for a two-year hiatus,he stayed with the show up until a year ago-Here's an interesting piece of trivia regarding Pardo:He appeared on "Weird Al" Yankovic's parody of the Greg Kihn Band hit "Jeopardy" which was titled "I Lost On Jeopardy"-That was a minor hit for Al in the summer of 1984-Farewell to one of the best voices in the history of broadcasting.
