This year is really mirroring 2012 in terms of celebrity death. It was announced on the CBS Evening News tonight that famed actor and comedian Robin Williams was found dead today. Apparently a suicide.

One of the funniest episodes of "Family Guy" I ever saw was when Peter would touch someone and that person would turn into one of the characters made famous by Robin Williams, such as Mork or Mrs. Doubtfire. Granted, Robin wasn't doing the voice, but someone on their staff, probably Seth MacFarlane, was probably a huge fan of his.

I found this news only a few moments ago, as I was not at home earlier. I will send my condolences to his family. R.I.P.

This isn't the first one and unfortunately won't be the last death by suicide over depression. People will make the blanket statements of "money can't buy happiness" but the reality is many who say it don't believe that statement. You'd hear many of them say "what did he have to be depressed about." I can attest to the fact it's not about money or your circumstances. Depression sucks. I suffer from it and it went untreated until 2009. I could have easily been one who met this same fate. While I do not use it as an excuse, it is probably a contributing factor to many poor decisions I made up to then. In 2009 I went off the deep end and my wife was forced to commit me. It broke her heart to do that and to have our then nearly 4 year old have the police escort me to an ambulance and drive off. That's when I finally sought help. Once treated it was still and IS STILL a struggle. I was ultimately fired from my job back the over trying to get it all right and staying away from work until I could. Medication doesn't make it all go away. I say all of this because this death and why it happened really hit home. If any of you suffer from it and need help. You aren't alone. There is help out there.

In all the coverage of Williams' death and the demons he dealt with has anyone else noticed several references that were made to the song "Tears Of A Clown"?

Good serious actor too. A remake of “Insomnia” (2002)was great largely thanks to his performance; I’ve seen the original version, this remake was much superior IMO. His other much-worthy dramatic role, I recall from the 90s, was on an episode of TV’s “Homicide, Life on Streets”. Robin Williams' first comedy album was released in the summer of 1979-Titled "Reality-What A Concept",it reached #10 on the Billboard 200 Chart. BTW, that 1979 comedy album ‘Reality…What a Concept’, was his first of five Grammy wins. Here’s my chosen homage... this by “The Great Satchmo” www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cQacvZ8mOU

I had the privilege of meeting Robin William right after September 11. He was one of a few celebrities who actually went to the WTC site and paid his respects. The way he was in real life was the same way we have seen him on TV and in the movies just being himself, A true act.

From Rick Dees:
Creative genius, entertainer and humanitarian - Robin Williams blessed us with a gift far beyond talent. What a tremendous loss.
So sad about the loss of our dear friend, Robin Williams. He was the easiest interview ever. I just said "Hi Robin" and laughed for an hour.
