I Hope this show really will be the lost hits. For so many years for instance an "80s station, usually airs ( during a promo ) an actuality of "phone in listeners" that yells excitedly, "I haven't heard that song in years"! Or, "I forgot all about that song"! And the station goes directly into "Hurt So Good" or "Billie Jean".
As a former Music Director at an AC radio station, I tried to actually include songs that truly hadn't seen the light of day since they charted. ( so many top 10 songs fit that category )! It's funny as I'am writing this, at this very moment "Hurts So Good just came on KOLA radio!!! Just now!!. Okay, now Peter Cetera and Amy Grant are singing about the future now!!!
Has anyone else noticed that out of the whole decade of the 1980s, 1989 seems to be the year that you don't hear any of the Billboard number ones for that year on an 80s station? At least it seems like it's the most neglected year. Even the top 5 hits. I hope to hear this new show soon. Dies anyone play Waterfronts "Cry"?

From the description, it sounds just like Barry Scott's Lost 45s program. What makes this new program different from that program? I will say Barry's program seems to have buckled under what could be pressure to play mostly Top 10 hits. A true lost 45s/MIA program would allocate at least as much time to non-Top 10 singles as those reaching the Top 10. Ideally, I wish there was a station that does not allow any Top 10 singles. How cool would that be?

Sorry for the late reply - for starters, I'm UK based which means I'll play songs you may not have heard - the show is now 6 months old and one of the anomolies I'm finding is that sometimes what's lost in the UK isn't in America and the same the other way around. I haven't heard Barry Scott's show as it's not available in the UK to my knowledge, so I can't compare, Yes there are some Top 10 hits in my show, but I'd like to think there are a lot that aren't. I'v just built a website about the show, perhaps you'd like to visit - it's at www.miashow.info or join the show's facebook group
