Just finished the 8/27/83 show--figured I go with that one instead of 9/17/83 since I've already heard the latter. Odd song version choice played on the 8/27/83--Naked Eyes' "Promises Promises" was some weird remix with some different lyrics than the single version. Not sure if it was an album cut or what, but the only time in my life I've ever heard that version, and I believe the only time it was ever played on AT40...

If the lyrics went, "You keep saying you and me / Are not your style or cup of tea," then yes, that's the original album version.

Got through 9/16/1978, in keeping with my 1978 shows. Two more weeks left of the three-hour shows. Think I'll rewind 52 weeks to 9/17/1977.

That was it indeed...don't know why I wouldn't have heard that version until now. I did read on the interweb that the lyrics album version--the one with the "cup of tea" line--were changed for the single version released in the States, as apparently the record company was concerned that the "cup of tea" phrase wouldn't resonate well here. Funny thing, though I don't use the cliche often, I do say "it's not my cup of tea" from time to time...maybe it's my midwestern roots or something.

When I have already heard whatever Premiere is playing for the 80s on a certain week, I go for Shadoe to fill out the decade. So it's 9/9/89 right now for me. Great White, The Cure, Jody Watley, Karyn White...lots of good ones here.
EDIT: Got to #1 and found New Kids....oh well, most of the songs in this show were good.

Today, the very first four-hour show of AT40, from 10/7/1978. In the top 10 currently. Going to load another batch of shows for the car; unsure of which ones yet.

AT40 from 10/23/1999. Some of these LDDs are tough to listen to...just tugs at the heart strings. Great music throughout the show though. Was preparing for a huge move that week, which took place the following week.
