Thanks for the heads-up, hifi. You saved me a lot of work to try and find the 1975 show.

Maybe I just haven't been paying attention, but it sounds like CKOC has changed their slogan from "biggest hits of the '50s '60s and '70s" to "... '60s '70s and '80s" recently. So perhaps going forward they won't be a "sure thing" as far as playing the older show when there's a choice. Glad they went with '72 today -- it was a chart worth hearing twice. But the '75 show has been nearly as wonderful.

The demographic that wants to hear 1955-63 oldies is just getting too darn old to be desirable to advertisers. Sad, because I'm not too far behind them.

....is WWZW notorious for their broadcasts? Seems they cut off #1 in running 1971 today. This is actually a surprisingly common problem. I think think some stations are programmed to automatically go to whatever they have cued up for the next broadcast slot following AT40 at the first commercial break after the top of the hour, and will do so even if AT40 is running behind schedule and isn't fnished yet. To go back to your question about WWZW, though, based on my experience with them the answer is yes. I had set dar.fm to record them yesterday in hopes of casting a wide net to get both of this week's '70s shows. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they were running last week's '71 show, which I had missed. I knew it was too good to be true.... I began recording classic AT40s via dar.fm three or four months ago. I try to get the optional extras, and the station listing here indicated that WWZW plays them, so I gave them a try. Including yesterday, I have recorded WWZW four times. Each time, there has been some problem: 1. They skipped over a portion of the show in the teens, omitting three songs. 2. They started the show very late, then skipped over several songs in order to get on schedule for the start of the second hour. 3. They started the show about 20 minutes early. (To account for the possibility that stations may start the show before the top of the hour, I set dar.fm to begin recording 15 minutes before the hour, but they started so early I missed the beginning of the show.) 4. They cut off the final segment of the show, with the #1 song (yesterday). I notice that the '70s station listing now contains a comment about WWZW's unreliability, so I am apparently not the only one who's had these kinds of issues. I think I am finally done with them.

WWIS is going with 1972 (just started at 10:30 CDT). ...and now that the show is wrapping up, just wanted to add that WWIS is on time! And that's with the extras. Must not be much going on locally in Black River Falls, Wisconsin this weekend!

Since I used to work in radio, I really like the idea of having a cue sheet!

Did any station run all 3 OEs? WWSW did 1...but not 2 and 3. I guess there's still a chance for WODC tonight.

....is WWZW notorious for their broadcasts? Seems they cut off #1 in running 1971 today. This is actually a surprisingly common problem. I think think some stations are programmed to automatically go to whatever they have cued up for the next broadcast slot following AT40 at the first commercial break after the top of the hour, and will do so even if AT40 is running behind schedule and isn't fnished yet. The radio playout systems I have used have 2 options A-Hard Branch (These are called different things by different systems). You set it for a time such as 11:00 and put it after the last AT 40 Cut but regardless of what it's doing at 11:00, it will cut that off and go to the next thing in the list. B-Soft Branch (Again called different things by different systems). You put it in after the last AT40 Cut for again say 11:00 and it will allow that cut playing to finish before starting the next thing in the list. The problem here could be is that if it hits 11:00 while still in commercials, it will skip the last segment of AT40 because it hasn't started that cut yet and go to the next program. These systems are designed to keep the station on time, but a heavy commercial log can screw up syndicated shows. The other thing that I find really annoying is when the internet stream comes back from commercials late and the next AT40 cut has already started on FM. WODC did it this week into Helen Reddy and it happens a lot on KCLH .
