Jumping back to 6/22/85 for a moment...this song was from Go West's self-titled debut LP. I saw this video on MTV during its run and went out and bought the cassette. Turned out to be an excellent album, with several great mid-80's pop/rock tunes, and not one bad song IMO. This was their follow up to "We Close Our Eyes", and peaked at #63...very mid-80's feel to this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AV0ugZumyJU

Something tells me you listen to a station in Central Europe. I heard this and didn't know it, but liked it and thought it sounded like Go West!

Offering a lost classic from 6/27/87 (SXM), which failed to crack Billboard's top 40. It's an interesting tribute to Marilyn Monroe:

The boys from Rockford, Illinois were at #49 in their sixth week on the charts with this lost 80s classic from July 10,1982. Unfortunately they would peak only 4 notches higher and chart an additional 5 weeks with this rocker. It You Want My Love - Cheap Trick

Joe Walsh's last Hot 100 single "Space Age Whiz Kids" was at its peak #52 position on July 16, 1983. It was from the album, "You Bought It...You Name It". The leadoff track from the album is this week's lost 80s classic. It's a great song that reminds me of some of his hits from the 70s. I Can Play That Rock And Roll - Joe Walsh

Something tells me you listen to a station in Central Europe. I heard this and didn't know it, but liked it and thought it sounded like Go West! As a matter of fact, I did hear the song when that station played it as filler between hours of the show. And that's what made me think of this!

Offering a lost classic from 7/16/83, which failed to crack Billboard's top 40. From the album "Shabooh Shoobah": "Don't Change" - INXS Great song from one of my favorite albums when I was in Jr. High (back when they actually called it that instead of Middle School). I became an INXS fan during the days of the Kick LP in 1988, and listened to a few of their albums, including Shabooh Shoobah most of that summer. "The One Thing" is still one of my all time favorite songs, as is another song on that album called "Jan's Song".

A song from the B-52's in the early days of MTV, and when they were still an underground/college rock band:
I remember first hearing this song a few years later while visiting family in Arizona--one of my cousins had a cassette of the Whammy! LP. Had heard of the B-52's, but never really new their music very well. The entire album was pretty good if I remember...

The Pretenders follow-up to "Brass In Pocket (I'm Special)" is this week's lost 80s classic from July 19, 1980. Given Chrissie's then-future relationship with Ray Davies (daughter, Natalie born 1983), it's not surprising that she was a huge fan of the Kinks. The band's cover of a Kinks' classic peaked at #65 during a 5 week chart run. Stop Your Sobbing - Pretenders

It's a neat cover of the Sam Cooke classic from spring 1962: "Twisting the Night Away" - Rod Stewart A re-recording of a song Rod had originally done on his 1972 "Never a Dull Moment" LP. The original version was released as a single in the summer of 1973 and peaked at #59.
