Larry Groce's "Junk Food Junkie" refers to Hostess Twinkies, now a thing of the past at least under that brand. Twinkies themselves should resume production under new ownership; same for Ding Dongs, also mentioned in the song Same song. Who's Euell Gibbons? . He pitched Grape-Nuts cereal in the 1970's. He believed in what at the time was called "natural" diets, which consisted of eating plants and other natural foods that were being ignored by people.

From "Funky Worm" by the Ohio Players... "...like 9 cans of shaving powder, that's funky..." Does *anybody* remember shaving powder in a can? I do, but I'm old.

Hmm. Shaving powder? Actually, I don't think I heard of it (and I'm not young).

In "The Beat Goes On", Cher laments "Bums still cry 'Hey Buddy, Have You Got a Dime?'". I work in Manhattan, where I pass the occasional homeless person -- I guarantee that they don't want for just a dime (coin, that is) at a time.
