Yes, thanks for posting! I missed this one, but I do remember the one from 1989. I think he mentioned his daughter Amber. And there was a story (with odd background music) about how Glenn Miller disappeared. Interestlingly, the story came AFTER the song ("Swing The Mood"). Rick Dees does that all the time, but that's the only time I recall Shadoe or Casey ever doing it.

Here's 1989: 1023.) 12-23-89 Program #89-51 QL: Has a song ever fallen off the chart from #1? Clip played of "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" - Jimmy Boyd Flashback: 1974 Interesting this question arose. I thought Gene Autry's " Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" also fell off the chart from No. 1, having topped the pop Best Sellers' chart Dec. 31, 1949. I know that was the case on the country chart – that and Ernest Tubb's " Blue Christmas" (the original, eight years before Elvis made it his own), both from the first week of January 1950 – Autry was Best Sellers, Tubb was on the new Most Played by Folk (C&W) Disc Jockeys chart. Kept 1974 because, those three songs aside, earlier in 1974 brought the biggest drops from No. 1 while remaining on the chart – "Then Came You" by Dionne Warwick and the Spinners; and "Nothin' From Nothin'" by Billy Preston, from No. 1 to No. 15. I believe Shadoe's final Christmas show was on Christmas Eve 1994, and the original run was 5 weeks away from cancellation.
But yeah, I didn't like the final months of AT40's original run, mainly because the music during that period was just downright awful to my taste. Not to mention I was going through a rough period during that decade, which finally ended before the start of the 21st century.
