And btw, was the 1981 Year-Ender a top 50 or a top 100? There's only a few years during the classic run when the year-end chart was anything other than a Top 100, and none of those years were in the 80s.

I'm guessing 1987 for the 80's Year-Ender. Reason? 1987 had the most new episodes than any other year. 1986 could be a good contender due to being the most played year so far in 2012 (and this weekend's regular broadcast speaks for itself), but if it does air, we will be hearing #100 to #51 that Premiere didn't air because they chose to air just the second half of the 1986 Year-Ender. And btw, was the 1981 Year-Ender a top 50 or a top 100? Other than 1979, all year-end specials from 1974 to 1993 were Top 100 shows. As everyone here knows I'm guessing, the 1979 year-ender was cut to a Top 50 to make room for the Top 50 of the '70s special the following week. The 1994 year-ender was only a Top 50 show, presumably due to the fact that the show was one month away from being cancelled.

In Billboard's official ranking, "Time Is Time" was also #100 for the year. I'm certain this was the only time where different year-end rankings by Billboard and AT40 produced the same song in the anchor position.

As someone else mentioned, I think they like to put one week in December and one in January since Casey was often absent the first week of January during the 80s, making it hard for Premiere to find a date that'll match up.

I'm absolutely shocked that Premiere slighted 1975 like it did this year, then doesn't even offer it as an option for the year-end shows.
That said, I think 3WS in Pittsburgh will take both 1978 shows for the 70s series.
I am happy to see that 1987 is the lone option for the 80s show. I'm excited to get that.
I would, though, love to have the Top 50 of 1986. As that was aired a few years ago, if anybody has that, I'd be grateful if they'd be willing to provide it to me.
If I can reciprocate in any way, I will be glad to do so.

It's really hard to predict what Premiere will do! Since this is the end of the SIXTH year and the only eligible years for the 80's are 80-87, that really limits the options to avoid a repeat. The '70's of course have 10 years so options are less limited. Do more people want two different year countdowns, i,e., Top 50 of two different years for two weeks, or a Top 100 of the same year in two parts? Just curious--whatever Premiere does I will listen!

I'm thinking that they'll all be early 1980s, since 1984-1986 were just recently done and 1987 will likely be passed over, since they're running year-end shows. I think that the John Lennon show will be run sometime in the next two weeks (most likely next week, since that's the anniversary date of his murder), and then 1981 and '82 or '83 the other two weeks.

At this time of year I like to point out the need to support AT40's network sponsors, especially if you're looking to spend a few dollars for the holidays. However, based on this week's cue sheets, I didn't recognize too many names. And there were, apparently, no national retailers. Perhaps we'll see Toys 'R' Us (who advertised in previous years) and a few other names yet this year. I'm not sure how to interpret the message if retailers opt to not sponsor AT40 on a national scale this year. At the very least, we can support local merchants buying AT40 ad time.
