If anything new for Year-End 1980s, seeing that the year with the most new episodes so far in 2012 was 1987, my money is going on The Top 100 of 1987. Then again, Premiere may surprise us by giving us the Top 100 of 1986 - in its entirety! After all, 1986 is the year with the most airings during 2012 so far! I feel strongly doubtful about replaying the 1984 year-ender, seeing it may have last aired in 2007, and its doubtful they're going to replay a broadcast that aired in 2007, when Premiere is focusing on airing reruns of 2008 or 2009 rebroadcasts. I have a feeling they're going to start replaying 2010-aired rebroadcasts in 2013. There was some speculation though that with New Years falling when it does they may only do a Top 50. If it were up to me, I'd run a Top 100 with the first week of it being 12/29 and week 2 being 1/5 since Casey took a lot of first weeks of the year off. That'd limit the few years he did one from being repeated over and over.

There's also the Casey's Top 40 year end for 1989 (although it's only a top 40). Since it's hosted by Casey, there may be a better chance (although still not a good chance, given Premiere's refusal--so far- to broadcast Casey's Top 40 on terrestrial) that you would hear that show rather than one of the Shadoe year ends. If Premiere doesn't own Casey's Top 40, then it's not that they're refusing to air it, but they're prohibited from doing so.

They just have not decided to air them...yet. I would agree though--if we were to hear the year-end special for 1989 (which we won't), it would more likely be CT40 than AT40 with Shadoe. (besides, who wants to listen to "Look Away" at #1??)

Paul:
I've sent you a personal message, where the two of us can continue the conversation about country music songs being extras on "AT40: The 70s/80s" programs. I think debating that topic has gotten the intended discussion – what this year's year-end shows will be – off track a bit.
You're surely also welcome to start a new thread, too.

Plus, there were a few other years in 2007 that were repeated - the one that sticks out in my mind is the September, 1983 show. So the Top 100 of 1984 is definitely not out of the question.

It seems that they would air any repeats right now, as is apparent by this week's choice of show.

But Top 100 Year End shows only come around once a year, so one could think any repeat is unlikely, though not out of the question. That said, I am hoping for 1981 and 1975!
