I tried to call WNIC yesterday to see what they are going to play Sunday to no avail. Are AT40 Christmas countdowns even available yet? Maybe they will play 1987 this week? I doubt it. That sucks. I am against Christmas tunes this early! The first Christmas countdown will be played next weekend. This weekend is all regular shows. Well, they dug one up somewhere - was hoping for 1987, but no. It was older Casey, so maybe from 90s/00s talking about Charlie Brown Christmas background, etc. Didn't listen to it long enough to get much more info, went on streaming and found another station. I enjoyed having AT40 80s on terrestrial in Detroit. I imagine it will be back in January...

WPNC is only doing Christmas weekdays for a while, not sure when weekend Christmas starts. At least we still get REGULAR AT40 80s on there for a while longer...

I agree it's much too early for Christmas music. In the olden days, when we had to walk 12 miles up a mountain in 3 feet of snow in the dark to get to school, the go-to Top 40 stations maintained the format, even adding new singles every week in December. And Christmas music on the radio was presented as casual mood setting -- like oldies -- until around December 20. And not until Christmas Eve did stations go full tilt with a yuletide theme. But I'm sure we've had this same conversation every year.

I don't know when they switched, but WMXY is now all Christmas.
Last week we started playing the station that switched to Christmas music a month ago and their playlist is extremely repetitive, like they only have about two dozen songs in their rotation.

I noticed yesterday afternoon that B105.7, the station here in Indpls that carries the '80's show, has switched over to being Indy's Christmas Station. I'm not sure when the switch took place, but I wasn't expecting it quite this soon. In past years, the switch usually took place the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

WNSN FM starting 7AM today is now going all Christmas. I presume they did not run AT40: The 80s or this week's Christmas show?

But I'm sure we've had this same conversation every year. You and I are like one on this Peteski, except I'd actually like to hear Xmas music until NYE. Why not, houses keep their Xmas lights lit after the 25th. Hallmark Channel is running holiday movies through at least 12/28. Retailers have their Xmas clearance sales. I think folks are still in the mood at lot more than when they haven't even finished eating their Halloween candy yet. I don't get out of the holiday spirit until I return to work/school. I'm am guessing radio doesn't do this anymore because advertisers wanna start hyping the next round consumer spending; the Super Bowl followed by Valentine's Day.
