What about Eagles with 3 by 1984 by Don Henley, Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh. If you go to top 20s, then add Randy Meisner, top 30s add Timothy B. Schmitt....and add hot 100s to pick up Don Felder. Indeed, there's another one, forgot about the Eagles, but since Joe Walsh never had a Top 10 single, it was only two, Don Henley and Glenn Frey, then actually by February of 1985!

New Edition has had Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant and Bell Biv Devoe all with their own top 10's.
The Runaways, while they never hit the top 40 as a group, gave us Joan Jett (who had a few top 10's with her own band, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts) and Lita Ford (whose duet with Ozzy Osbourne hit the top 10).

Yes, oops that it's 4 Eagles members with top 20s not top 10s. Still amazing that six members made it to the hot 100. Is there another group with that many?

The Go-Go's have had two members hit the top 10 solo: Belinda Carlisle and Jane Wiedlin.
And while it doesn't quite count, the Guess Who spawned two other acts that made the top 10: a solo Burton Cummings, and Randy Bachman's other band Bachman-Turner Overdrive.

A few weeks back, I was reflecting on members of the Eagles who had their own Top 40 solo hits, and I completely forgot about Timothy B. Schmidt.
I knew that "Playin' It Cool" missed the Top 40 but forgot about "Boys Night Out". I kinda remember writing the song title down in my AT40 notebook back in the day, but I can't remember what the song sounded like if my life depended on it.

Timothy did a great remake of "So Much In Love" in 1982. Too bad that one never made the Top 40. I remember that one WAY more fondly than "Boys' Night Out.".

With 1988 once again getting the shaft, I'm going to go with these extras for the year that does get respect:
* "Footloose" -- Kenny Loggins. * "Let's Stay Together" -- Tina Turner. (I believe this was her comeback hit.) * "The Language of Love" -- Dan Fogelberg. (No. 13, the lost chesnut of the week.) * "Somebody's Watching Me" -- Rockwell. (Just too obvious.)
No country this week. Besides, the one that was in the Hot 100 (but below the top 40 -- it was Dolly Parton's cover of "Save the Last Dance for Me") had peaked, and Willie Nelson and Julio Iglaseas' "To All the Girls I've Loved Before" was still a month off.
