Prediction for next show: 2/14/87 I wrote a few pages back that a show dated February 14 was very likely so it's either 1981 or 1987. I'm going with 1987 since 1981 was featured as a 'B' more recently. And also this would set up 2/28/81 for air on Leap Day. I agree, but there is also a possibility of 2-15-86 airing instead. 2-23-80 could be for Feb 22-23, and your Leap Day predtion could be paired with 2-28-87. If your prediction holds true, then 2-22-86 could be the next following show. I don't think 1980 and 1986 will wait til March, but we'll see what happens.

Hoping 2/22/86 happens the weekend of Feb. 22-23 -- that's another show that has been on the shelf since 2010. I agree that it looks like one of the Valentine's Day shows ('81 or '87) will go for next week. Leap Day weekend will be interesting -- might be the year between '81 and '87 that doesn't go next weekend?

Casey mentioned that 3 songs containing alcoholic beverages to hit #1 on this week's 1985 show. I can only think of 2 songs post 1985 to add to the AT40 list of spirits. We got "Red,Red,Wine" by UB40 that was aged from 1984 to hit #1 in 1988. In 1990, we finally got a whiskey product called "Black Velvet" by Alannah Myles to add to the short list of AT40's #1 Spirits. An honorable mention to Pink who hit #1 on AT40 in 2011 with "Raise Your Glass." I found these other Top 40 hits (Billboard & R&R) that didn't hit #1: Spill the Wine – Eric Burden & War Beer Barrel Polka – Bobby Vinton Your Bulldog Drinks Champagne – Jim Stafford Margaritaville – Jimmy Buffett Tequila – ALT & The Lost Civilization Gin & Juice - Snoop Doggy Dogg Champaign Supernova – Oasis Pass The Courvoisier – Busta Rhymes Tequila – Dan + Shay

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess - 2/14/81 2nd Guess - 2/14/87
Valentine's Day show? Seems likely for next week. If not, 2/16/80 is another decent possibility...

Nor "Raise Your Glass" because the title does not name a specific drink. Regardless, "Tequila" appears to be the chart spirit of choice with at least three title mentions, including the version by The Champs.

2/16/80 is the show that included the follow up to the LDD where Cheryl Ladd was asked to prom. Optional extras from that show, which first aired on February 19-20, 2011 and was replayed as a 'B' show on February 14-15, 2015: "What I Like About You" - The Romantics (#85) "Cars" - Gary Numan (#81) "Brass In Pocket (I'm Special)" - The Pretenders (#92) "Call Me" - Blondie (#80) All of these were debuts that week, btw...

And both of those shows can also be heard on the Classic AT40 channel.

Good variety so far on this 1984 AT40. In a row, we had Rockwell, Kenny Rogers, and Quiet Riot LOL.

Bill Benjamin from WPNC just posted on Facebook that they're starting the show two hours early tomorrow, at 8:00 AM, so that they can start the 70's show early due to a high school basketball tournament game that would have conflicted with it. This is for this week only.

IIRC, we'd have to wait until the summer of 1996 for there to be a Wednesday song to make the Top 40, when the aptly titled "Waiting For Wednesday" by Lisa Loeb & Nine Stories peaked at #29.
As far as I know, no songs with Thursday in the title have charted. In fact, the only song I know of is Jim Croce's song by that title from the I Got A Name album (and even in that one, he doesn't mention the title in the lyrics).
