For June 15 I predict 6/13/87. We're due for a presentation from 1987 and the show last aired in 2009.

Good news for those of you who are members of the Charlene Fan Club... The June 5, 1982 program this week is one of only three AT40 shows where "I've Never Been To Me" is played twice. Meeting soon at a phone booth near you.

Meeting soon at a phone booth near you. The three shows in question being 5/29, 6/5, and 6/12/82 when it led off the show by being played as last week’s #3; the last week it fell to #11, but was also an LDD. If Premiere wanted to throw listeners a curveball that would confound many, they could use INBTM as a 70s optional extra in one of the few 1977 shows when it was first on the chart—or use “Used To Be”, a Stevie Wonder duet that was her only charted follow up, for one later in 1982. I wouldn’t hold my breath for either.

This week's optional extras are both recycled from 2015, when the same two shows were paired, though in opposite positions (1988 was then the A and 1982 the B.)
June 5, 1982: Hour #1: "Hard To Say I'm Sorry" - Chicago (#75; debuted) Hour #2: "After The Glitter Fades" - Stevie Nicks (#41) Hour #3: "Abracadabra" - The Steve Miller Band (#56) Hour #4: "Eye Of The Tiger" - Survivor (#73; debuted)
June 11, 1988 (all from post-Casey 1988-89): Hour #1: "As Long As You Follow" - Fleetwood Mac Hour #2: "Don't Know What You Got (Til It's Gone)" - Cinderella Hour #3: "One Moment In Time" - Whitney Houston Hour #4: "Armageddon It" - Def Leppard

That big of a place? Don't need so much room for the meetings.

That song sounds like a tampon commercial from 1979. "I've been to Tampax, but I've never been to Stay Free"-sponsored by Subtle Whoring.

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess - 6/13/87 2nd Guess - 6/18/83
About as close to a slam dunk as there is -- 6/13/87 was the 10th ever show played in the series back in 2007, and was last played in 2009 -- maybe one of the last shows not emceed by Larry Morgan? It would be a big surprise if it's anything else...
Interesting footnote here -- the previous airings of this show omitted the Go-Go's "Vacation" extra, which told the story of the song that was issued as the first cassette single. Assuming this is the show, it will be interesting to see if they reinsert that extra (let's hope they do). It was actually one of two extras in this show -- the other was Marvin Gaye's "Heard It Through the Grapevine". Surprising that they wouldn't have kept the extra that included an 80's song, rather than the one with a 60's song.

"Never been to Me" is easily the worst song in the 80"s - if not history. Twice in this show will mean twice the effort to avoid it. It's actually worse than "Muscles" or "Centipede"!

Scott Shannon's revenge! Let's see, how can we make this smarmy song from 1977 even worse? I know, let's add a cloying, sappy, spoken-word break to it!

"Hard To Say I'm Sorry" was featured on the soundtrack of an obscure movie called "Summer Lovers"-One of the stars was Daryl Hannah who was relatively unknown at that time.

Remember that movie well, and not for it's artistic qualities. Let's just say it had some 'scenery'. "Blame It On Rio" was a similar '80s 'T&A fest'.

That's the show with the backmasking story behind "Heavy Metal Poisoning" by Styx from Kilroy Was Here. Speaking of gaps between Top 40 hits from the same album,"White Wedding " almost but not quite counts. After "Hot In The City" from Billy Idol's 1982 self titled album, "White Wedding " immediately followed but bubbled under at #108. In 1983, it was re-released and peaked at #36, a bit surprisingly low.

Nah not the worst of the 80s...the two you mentioned have it beat by far. I must say though I am a card carrying member of the Charlene Fan Club. "Never Been To Me" really has to be applauded for its strong message om 1982 no less, of how a woman can do what she wants just like a man. I will go ahead and leave this post open for additional worse songs as I come across them...
