No, that is WSQL ('White Squirrel Radio'), Brevard NC, who is running the 1974 show right now. They are the only AT40 affiliate, either '70s or '80s, that runs the show on Thursday. The earliest '80s airing is Firday at 1PM Central, WWIS Black River Falls WI. KSTO Tulsa runs an 80's show on Thursday nights but it isn't the show that is scheduled to air THAT weekend. It's either the B show from the PREVIOUS weekend or a randomly selected show from around that time. People on here are saying it is the B show from the previous weekend when there is one but every time I've listened it's been a random show from their vault. Confirming what you've said here, instead of airing the 2/21/87 "B" show, KSTO ran 3/8/86 on Thursday night. SO....is there anyone who will run last week's '87 this weekend? If you catch somebody doing it, I'd love to hear it.

One of the absolute worst songs of the 80s, IMO. At least the US version. The German version is...tolerable. "The biggest mover within the countdown this week rockets from #40 to #29 - 11 notches. It´s a song that pays homage to a composer who did his work back in the 18th century. And he´ll probably never be off the Billboard Classical Chart. With a tribute to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart here´s Falco with "Rock Me Amadeus"

For example, I am not a fan of the narrative version that AT40 plays but I love the MTV version of the song.

March 1983 was a time of transition: adult contemporary favorites such as Neil Diamond and Dan Fogelberg were on the top 40 with their last and next-to-last top-40 hits, respectively. Duran Duran was having their first hit, as was Culture Club. We had a good mix of standard AOR rock (Journey, Styx) and modern rock (Pretenders, Men at Work, et al). Country crossovers were still appearing. MTV's presence was just kicking in in a big way. I was a little too old for MTV, and it was around this time that I was beginning to feel that top-40 radio was skewing a bit young for me. However, adult contemporary's demographic was still 5-10 years too old for me. Hot AC would have been my perfect format beginning in 1983.

3/5/83 optional extras:
Hour #1: "Change Of Heart" - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (#45) Hour #2: "Beat It" - Michael Jackson (#65) Hour #3: "It Might Be You" - Stephen Bishop (#52) Hour #4: "Love My Way" - Psychedelic Furs (#73; debuted)
Same songs as in 2014, but Hour 1 and 3's extras are switched.

It makes me wonder if this will create a precedent, and eventually radio stations in the U.S. and Canada will drop Michael Jackson songs from their playlists? I did learn that at least three radio stations in Canada have dropped Michael Jackson songs from their playlists in the wake of the allegations. I'd say more will follow suit.

One can separate the person from his/her body of work. I still hear Gary Glitter's 'Rock and Roll' every now and then on oldies stations.

Austria´s biggest radio station Ö3 currently has "no reason to remove Michael Jackson from the playlist". All in all, this is a "very complex case", informs a spokeswoman. "The serious accusations made in the documentary film have not yet been conclusively judged to be true or false by the courts. The present case is, however, interesting from an editorial point of view and is, of course, closely monitored by us on an ongoing basis," says the Ö3 music editors´ statement.
And here´s a statement from the private broadcaster "Antenne Bayern":
"Antenne Bayern" makes it clear that Michael Jackson´s songs are first and foremost art that "our listeners love". "Consequently, museums would also have to depend on the works of Paul Gauguin, who married a 13-year-old," explained program director Ina Tenz. She also said, "Playing Michael Jackson in the program doesn´t mean we tolerate child abuse." Although a boycott at the present time is effective in the press, it doesn´t contribute to the prevention or prosecution of child abuse.

"Billie Jean" was the # 1 song on 3/5/83-The video for "Billie Jean" was played quite a bit on MTV during that time-Interesting to note that the network previously didn't air videos from African-American artists until Michael Jackson came along-Jackson breaking the color barrier on MTV invited comparisons to Jackie Robinson becoming the first Negro player in major league baseball in 1947.
