One of the longest gaps in the 80s series is the 3-show gap from 2/20/82 to 3/6/82...seems like it's time to break into that one. Do you mean shows that haven't been aired yet? 2/20/82 was aired in 2008. The longest gap in the 80s series right now is the 3-show gap from 5/31/80 to 6/14/80. In addition, 6/21/80 is a guest-hosted show. That's the four weeks Funkytown was at #1. Good catch--I missed that the 2/20/82 show has already been aired. So it's a 2-week gap of 2/27/82 and 3/6/82, but there aren't many 2-week gaps left that have yet to be aired. 1980 does still have a couple multi-show gaps, most significantly the "Funkytown" stretch at #1 that you mention. The other one is 4/5/80 and 4/12/80. I am guessing we hear a show from the 5/31/80 to 6/14/80 stretch, and maybe one of those two April shows? Though we'll likely be getting a show from March 1980 (guessing 3/8/80)--not sure if that would be too soon after.

If we do get a March 1980 show, we may get May 31, 1980 from the "Funkytown" #1 streak. I bet if we get any of the other shows with "Funkytown" at #1, that will most likely be in a future year that one of the two remaining April 1980 shows will have aired.
I am almost certain that only one show from June 1980 aired thus far: the 27th, in 2012. I remember someone making a comment about "back-to-back Funkytowns", since June 20, 1987 aired the previous week, and that had Pseudo Echo's cover version climbing the chart.
I bet we'll probably get 1981 or 1982 next weekend. We're due to hear the "Shuckatoom" theme again.

Why does Larry Morgan not give his name, when he signs off now? Somebody let us know.

One would assume that 2/23/80 would be repeatable at this point, so it wouldn't be out of the question for that show to be aired next week. My money is on 3/8/80 for the first 1980 show of 2016...

My optional extra predictions for the 2/28/87 show: * "Sign O' The Times" by Prince (debuted at #59 while Casey was on vacation 3/7; entered AT40 when Casey returned on 3/14) * "I Knew You Were Waiting For Me" by Aretha Franklin & George Michael * "Come As You Are" by Peter Wolf * "Dominoes" by Robbie Nevil
There are two "extras" featured in the original broadcast: "Get Back" by The Beatles and "Every Breath You Take" by The Police. I wonder if either song could get bumped to optional extra status...
