I think I will record the broadcast tomorrow with their new player. I am recording tonight's Broadcast with TuneIn. Then I will compare them playing on my car stereo which would be a much more sensitive comparison and then let you know. I'm always trying to find a better way to record the shows with the best sound quality to keep in my long term library. I was trying to compare in my car my 2 recordings of Star 107.9 playing 05/25/85 today. The one on their own stream vs. the other on "tune in". It seemed that tune in was ever so slightly better although it could be just my imagination. Their own stream is significantly improved now because previously there was no comparison. Tune in used to be "hands down" better.

Back listening to shows again after being away for the weekend and beyond and this week's show is the first one for me. Interesting that the story about the Bee Gees broken record when they were kids has a different take this time. Previously Casey has said that the incident came off badly because the broken record caused them to have to sing without backing music and they could not hack it. But they were invited back because of their good faith effort. As I said, this time the story has a different take on the incident.
BTW, a story heard word for word like the last time I heard it, a couple weeks ago on the 5/16/81 show, was the Champaign frozen instruments story.

apps.streamlicensing.com/player-popup.php?sid=3160&stream_id=5773
The link listed on the station website & on the '80's Station List thread always drops or is "inactive".
Try the one I've listed above for a much more reliable listening experience!

I use the TuneIn radio app to hear Abigail radio and haven't had a problem at all with it&the quality is great. Once today, it did drop but I shut down my iphone(which I use) and powered it back up, reconnected the Bluetooth and it worked terrific again.

I finally managed to get my above link in working order. It's a little over-modulated, but it makes up for it by not "flaking out".

There were other songs Premiere could've used, that were headed for the 40 that week. Every breath and Burnin' up didn't need to be included as extras.

Well since one of them was included, Larry Morgan could say that combined with this week's new #1 song, Every Breath and it have the longest monopoly of the #1 position by 2 hits in the pre-Soundscan era of the Hot 100. FYI, 3 other pairs totaled 13 weeks.

Premiere makes two strange choices for next weekend, and both involve the "A" show. The first, is what the show is. Skipping forward a bit, the "A" show is from 6/11/1988: www.charismusicgroup.com/Cue%20Sheets/06-11-88.pdfThe "B" show previously aired in 2010, and is from 6/5/1982: www.charismusicgroup.com/Cue%20Sheets/06-05-82.pdfNow, the extras from 1982 will remain the same as in 2010. For 1988, clues will be needed - and how! (As with the 70s, I already know what these will be.) All four extras come from the timeframe of late 1988/early 1989. Let's say...from November, up to when the theme package changes (2/4/1989 was the last show before the change). Two of the four are Top 5 hits that peaked within this period. A third, is a Top 15 hit from the period. The fourth...could be the most difficult. It's from an act with many Top 40 hits to their name, but the song in question is actually not one of them. (And, like the others, it peaked in the same time period.) Good luck! (You'll need it.)

I predict: Wild Wild West - The Escape Club Two Hearts - Phil Collins Smooth Criminal - Michael Jackson
Not sure about the fourth (I misread that last clue)

For 6/11/88, I'll predict: "I Don't Want Your Love"-Duran Duran (top 5-Dec 1988) "Armageddon It"-Def Leppard (top 5-Jan 1989) "The Promise"-When In Rome (top 15-#11-Dec 1988) "As Long As You Follow"-Fleetwood Mac (lots of hits but this only got to #43 in Jan 1989)
The recycled 1982 extras are, in this order: "Hard to Say I'm Sorry"-Chicago "After the Glitter Fades"-Stevie Nicks "Abracadabra"-Steve Miller Band "Eye of the Tiger"-Survivor
After a near-week off from classic AT40--only one show from each decade, so I don't have to hunt around and plan my schedule for stations playing all the shows--now we have four, with two each from the 70s and 80s. This will take some extra effort, especially as musically I like both B shows better than the A's. I'd think it was a bit soon to return to 1988, but at least 6/11/88 isn't a Premiere rerun--chronologically the last such Casey-hosted 1980s AT40. Plus there's still time to stick in one more from that year as an A and/or B.
