Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess: 12/21/85 2nd Guess: 12/17/83
Flip a coin between these two...main reason I'm going with '85 is that it's the only year of entire decade (not counting 1988) that hasn't yet had a 3rd airing since the beginning of July. However, the longest drought of any year at this point belongs to 1983.
If it were up to me, I would schedule 12/17/83 next week, and 12/28/85 the weekend of December 27-28, then have the year-end top 100 special air the first two weekends in January. That saves Premiere from having to figure out what weekly shows to air the second week in January (when almost all from the 80s were sub-hosted), and not have to repeat as many shows for the rest of the month. Just my two cents...

KOOL 94.5 has the playlist posted including extras... no one guessed Hour #2's extra:
Hour 1: "What Have I Done To Deserve This" by The Pet Shop Boys & Dusty Springfield Hour 2: "Pop Goes The World" by Men Without Hats Hour 3: "Everywhere" by Fleetwood Mac Hour 4: "Tunnel Of Love" by Bruce Springsteen

Optional extra derby choices for 27 years ago this week: --I Live for Your Love-Natalie Cole --Tunnel of Love-Bruce Springsteen --What Have I Done to Deserve This-Pet Shop Boys featuring Dusty Springfield --In God's Country-U2 (wishful thinking on my part) Oddball/tiebreaker: Criticize-Alexander O'Neal (underrated R&B jam) "In God's Country" is a fantastic song--would have been a nice curveball pick...

I want to hear a 1986 show the last two weeks of the year so I can hear You be illin by Run dmc. Not out of the realm of possibility that we would get either 12/20/86 or 12/27/86. I'm thinking there are other years that would be more likely, but it's been long enough since an '86 show was played...

It sure would have been better than the Hour #2 song that was chosen that nobody guessed. Maybe this board's wisdom exceeds that of Premiere...

Given that the dry spell for a 1983 show is longer than that of a 1985 show, my money goes on December 17, 1983 for next weekend's 80s offering. Not to mention that we ended up hearing November 1983 shows for five straight years, ending with the last remaining fresh show - November 26, 1983 - in 2013, and I think we're long overdue for a December 1983 show.
Of course, if we get a 1983 show this month, and seeing that some of the songs on any December 1983 show is likely to be played into 1984, I bet we won't get a 1984 show until February.
As for 1986 airing this month, I have doubts about it happening. Especially when there may be a chance of hearing the last remaining available January 1987 show next month, or a repeat of January 24, 1987. I'd prefer to hear the January 24, 1987 show over the other, even if it is a repeat. If a 1986 show airs before the year is out, I'd rather hear December 27, 1986.
Some people are predicting the year-end countdown to be the Top 100 of 1980 in its entirety and not limited to the latter four hours. One other scenario is, if we don't get a 1985 show this month, we may end up with the Top 100 of 1985, which likely started airing at the end of 2010. Given that all the available shows from January 1985 are exhausted, it may seem to make sense to hold off until February to air a 1985 show, whether they air a December 1985 show, or replay the Top 100 of 1985.

Yes but the January 1987 show wouldn't have the great Run DMC song You be Illin on it. So I hope they play the December 17,1983 show next weekend and then the December 27th, 1986 the following weekend. Then play the top 100 of 1980 the 1st two weeks of January. Although I would like to hear january 15th or 22nd 1983 to hear Memory by Barry Manillow and Two Less Lonely People In The World by Air Supply.

Is KOKZ among the stations which declines to play post-1986 countdowns for whatever reason?

That was weird... Not sure if it's like this on every broadcast this weekend but at the conclusion of this weeks AT40, after Casey names the #1 song again after it's played, they somehow make an edit and you hear Casey saying the credits and July 25, 1987 as the date and all definitely in a different (higher) voice tone... I wonder if Premiere had to edit this for any reason?
