Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess: 11/2/85 2nd Guess: 11/3/84
Seems like 1985 is the obvious choice, but I wouldn't be floored if it were 1984. However...I'm going to guess that we get '84 later in November or even early December.

James Ingram also made the top 40 as part of a one-off QUARTET:
Al B. Sure!, James Ingram, El DeBarge, and Barry White in 1990 hit 31 with Secret Garden.

James Ingram also made the top 40 as part of a one-off QUARTET: Al B. Sure!, James Ingram, El DeBarge, and Barry White in 1990 hit 31 with Secret Garden. There was a fifth artist on that one - Quincy Jones (though he wasn't a vocalist on it.)

In the early days of WRKS-FM (98.7 KISS-FM New York), morning man Bob Slade asked Luther Vandross how to pronounce his last name correctly. Based on how Luther answered that question, Casey has never pronounced his last name correctly on American Top 40.

For the third week in a row, the show will air already in progress after the Michigan State game on WGHN (the game starts at 3:30).

A question was asked on this week's show wanting to know what foreign act had the most #1's on the country chart. The answers that were given were Anne Murray and Hank Snow, both with 6. Well, the record was broken in 1998 when Shania Twain scored her 7th chart-topper with "Honey, I'm Home." So, it's Ms. Twain that is the all-time foreign country champ.

The record has been surpassed - Keith Urban, born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, has 14 now.

For some reason WMMX got ahead of themselves. It's 8:20 am central, and they're already up to 'True' at #4.
