Did Casey really again forget to read the #1s on Billboard's other charts this week? With the 1983 show just a few weeks ago I could see where that might've been omitted due to the #1 story being bigger, but with this week's show I get a feeling that he had originally read them, and that got edited out for some reason (either accidentally or intentionally).

Here are the official optional extras for this week: Hour #1: "Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)" - Samantha Fox Hour #2: "Dreaming" - OMD Hour #3: "Shattered Dreams" - Johnny Hates Jazz Hour #4: "Always On My Mind" - Pet Shop Boys Interesting--Premiere appears to have returned to a more conventional set of extras for '88 shows this year after using the extras to play songs from the post-Casey months of 1988 the past two years. This is a great set of extras, btw... They always do the "more conventional" extras during the early part of 1988. Last year, the February 13th and March 5th shows had extras from when Casey was still doing the show but the extras from the June 4th and August 6th shows were from the post-Casey period. Assuming they'll do the same thing this year, the next 1988 show should have the post-Casey extras.

Yes, I think we are long overdue for a 1987 show. Not to mention that I enjoyed AT40 the most during 1986 to 1988, plus the fact that we haven't heard a new 1987 show since just before Christmas. I have a feeling we're going to get a 1987 show either next weekend or the weekend after. Probably next weekend. We're also long overdue for 1982, but the only April show from that year that has yet to be aired is the April 10 show. Of course, they're not necessarily avoiding repeats when humanly possible (although that seems to have been the case most of this year). I'm actually hoping that they do run 1987 the week after next, because of the interesting story leading into the #1 song, but I have a feeling we're not going to get that show - this year, anyway. BTW, where is the thread that has a list of shows not yet run by Premiere? I scanned the first ten pages of the American Top 40 Classics forum but couldn't find it anywhere. I need to remember to bookmark it.

3-hit wonder. Terence also had, 'Dance, little sister', which peaked @ #30.

he did some stuff in the early 90's too... "she kissed me" from 93 was a short lived radio thing.

Show from 03.26.88, but lots of ties to the 70's with songs by: George Harrison, Gladys Knight & Pips, Cher, Rick Springfield, Toto, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Carmen, Natalie Cole, Aerosmith, Michael Jackson - and even the 60's with remakes of Sittin' On the Dock of the Bay, I saw Him (Her)Sanding There and a LDD featuring Yesterday.

Hope you all have more patience than I do if you're listening to KQMA's stream of AT40 right now. Stops, starts, skips, and hesitations all over the place. Jack FM's (Baltimore) broadcast tonight should have, hopefully, a lot fewer problems. Rick in South Omaha

I also think we're due for a 1982 show, so with that in mind, I'm going to guess April 3, 1982.
Backup is April 5, 1980.

I think it would be nice to hear a 1982 show next weekend. Like 1987, it will have been nearly three months since we last heard a 1982 show, and we are due for one soon.
April 3, 1982 gets my prediction for next weekend. April 4, 1987 is my backup prediction.
If 1987 doesn't air next weekend, I bet we'll get it on the weekend of April 12.
If 1987 airs next weekend, we will be hearing a rebroadcast of the first episode with the 1987-1989 music package. The 1984 number jingles would remain until February 4, 1989.
One question regarding music packages: Did AT40 update their music package every so many years due to licensing and contractual reasons? I wonder if the "Shuckatoom!" era music had the longest run for a music package during AT40's two runs combined?
Also, a bit off topic, but when did the second music package for Ryan Seacrest's AT40 run debut?

Prediction for next week's show: 1st Guess: 4/4/87 2nd Guess: 4/5/80 We should almost certainly get an '87 show in April, and the only one not likely to be chosen is 4/18/87 (since it was played in 2012). I would bet that it won't be 4/11/87, since I am thinking another year might be a lock for the following weekend... Oh, the intrigue. Which year would that be and why? OK, so full disclosure, the year I consider a lock for the week of April 12th (1982) could actually be aired next as well--guessing that we will for sure hear 1982 in the next two weeks (it is more or less a certainty that either 4/3/82 or 4/10/82 will be played, as a 1982 show will almost have to be played in April, and PRN aired 4/17/82 last year and 4/24/82 in 2012, so either of those are likely a non-possibility this time around). I'm thinking we hear '80 or '87 next week with 4/10/82 the following week (4/10/82 has yet to be aired), or we get 4/3/82 (which last aired in 2010) next week and '80 or '87 the following week. Guessing 1980 either gets played in the next two weeks or has to wait until May (since 4/19/80 aired in 2011 and 4/26/80 in 2012).
