On AT40: The 80's 7/25/1981 Casey mentioned the Diana Ross/Lionel Richie duet "Endless Love" was their first time together, but the 2 never did another duet though Diana would continue to make the AT40 chart until 1985 and Lionel later had his own 1982-1992 solo AT40 career.

And if AT40 used the R&R source in 1978 Baker Street was #1 on that chart too. That's what he said. Back then, R&R's CHR chart was only 30 positions and a Top 10 New and Active.

On AT40: The 80's 7/25/1987 Casey mentioned the Diana Ross/Lionel Richie duet "Endless Love" was their first time together, but the 2 never did another duet though Diana would continue to make the AT40 chart until 1985 and Lionel later had his own 1982-1992 solo AT40 career. 7/25/1981, that is? Though the same song was an LDD in the 1987 show. In the same show Casey noted that the Stars on 45 medley was making a "very leisurely" trip down the chart, having gradually fallen from 1-2-7-7-12-12 that week. As if on cue, it plunged over the next month from 12 to 25-44-52-100-100 (another of those weird pauses at the bottom of the chart.)

Technically, they would collaborate again on "We Are the World" in 1985, which would make it their second time together.

Do you think this counts as a jinx?: On AT40: The 80's 8/2/1986 there was a question letter to Casey regarding if any artist has hit the top 40 for the first time after his or her death and Casey's answer was Johnny Ace with "Pledging My Love" in 1955 (charted after Johnny Ace had his mysterious death at the age of 25). Well, there would be one other artist to finally make the top 40 after a tragic death in 1995 (when Casey was doing Casey's Top 40 at the time and the old AT40 with Shadoe Stevens ceased earlier in the year though it wouldn't be reborn by Casey himself until 3 years later): Selena, with "I Could Fall in Love" and "Dreaming of You".

In a reverse jinx, Casey said Winwood was headed to #1 in great leaps on this week's 1986 show. Higher Love would get there.

On July 28, 1973 show Casey speculated that Yesterday Once More by Carpenters could be a #1, while the song spent a second week at #2. The song would make it to the top spot in Cash Box & Record World but notm in Billboard.

On this week's 1975 show Casey said Janis Ian was back, stronger than ever. She's never reached the countdown again.

Casey jinxed Elt this week in 1975 saying Someone could be a #1. But he reversed jinxed Glen Campbell saying Rhinestone Cowboy was his biggest since Make Believe. Little did Casey know how much bigger it would get!

The song would make it to the top spot in Cash Box & Record World but notm in Billboard. Yes, part of the 1973 "Predict Next Week's #1" guessing game feature. That was a particularly funny one for me, owing to Casey's odd way of pronouncing the word as "Yesterdee." (He did it with all the days of the week too!) So after playing the Carpenters at #2, and saying "Yesterdee" at the intro and outro, he then said that there were three choices for next week's #1, and said "Yesterdee Once More" when listing those options, and, he says it a fourth time when he chooses "Yesterdee Once More" to be #1 the following week! Haha!

Does the story on 8/6/77 about fans travelling to see Elvis count as a jinx?

Does the story on 8/6/77 about fans travelling to see Elvis count as a jinx? The fans got lucky there - that was the last show Elvis ever did. He died later that month.
