KOKZ is my #1 for the 70's (especially using the URL for the AAC stream over a player app like VideoLAN) WTOJ is very good too, and is practically guaranteed to play all of the extras WODZ has good sound quality, but doesn't always play all the extras and has some overlap issues coming in and out of commercial breaks, etc. I primarily use DAR.fm to record the shows and KOKZ has an excellent quality stream. WTOJ's stream used to be very good too, but lately the quality has been average at best. WJJR has an excellent stream, but it is not setup on DAR.fm. I submitted the url I listen with via the station's web page - but DAR.fm said it wouldn't work. I used KLFM to record the 'B' show 05.15.71 - but it sounded brassy with high-end pops/clippings. Good to know about WJJR -- I'll have to listen to that one this weekend. KLFM used to stream in mono -- not sure if that's been fixed yet or not? It's been a while since I listened to their stream. As for WTOJ, I understand that their stream hasn't sounded good over DAR, but the sound using their AAC stream URL over a player (I use the VideoLAN VLC player) has been quite good as of late. IMHO, it's in the same ballpark with KOKZ. FYI, I don't use DAR -- still use Audacity to record and edit the shows.

The Beatles were hot again in 1976-In April,Lorne Michaels the creator & producer of "Saturday Night Live" offered the guys a check for $3,000.00 for a one-time appearance-George Harrison was the musical guest on "SNL" the evening of 11/20/76-"Got To Get You Into My Life" was a popular track on the 1966 album "Revolver"-Ten years later,Capitol Records released a two-record set called "Rock & Roll Music"-"Got To Get You Into My Life" made the charts & peaked at # 7-Not too shabby for a band that split up six years earlier. Capitol put a big marketing push into the Beatles catalog to coincide with the "Rock and Roll Music" LP release. I purchased the rest of their Capitol catalog than summer, to go along with the 1973 'Red' and 'Blue' greatest hits albums, "Abbey Road", and Sgt. Pepper", which I already owned. For some reason, the first time I saw the original post, I thought it said $3 hundred thousand. Surely he didn't think he could get all the Beatles for a measley 3 thousand?

They could divvy up the 3 grand however they chose, as if they decided to give Ringo less it was up to them...

Is it me or does the sound on White Squirrel sound a bit 'warped" this evening?

Is it me or does the sound on White Squirrel sound a bit 'warped" this evening? It sounded that way to me as well at first, but it has gotten better. Not noticing it any more.

Is it me or does the sound on White Squirrel sound a bit 'warped" this evening? I noticed that too, when they got up to a few of the piano-driven songs (i.e. "Today's The Day", "Trying To Get The Feeling Again"). The funny thing is, the piano sounded warped, but the vocals did not.

The funny thing is, the piano sounded warped, but the vocals did not. Noticed it right away when 'Penny's Dad' started singing at #40. And then again on "Today's the Day". It did seem to clear up after that.

Posted on both 70s and 80s threads: Was there a recap of the 2014 tribute posted on this site anywhere, or on the pulsemusic boards? Thanks.

It was the first of seven weeks at #1 for "Shadow Dancing", and at the opposite end of that spectrum, the only week in the top 40 for Chic's second hit "Everybody Dance" (that song deserved more chart success IMHO -- fewer songs showcase Bernard Edwards' insane bass skills than that one does).

It was also the show with what was for the time a huge drop out of the top 10: Player's "This Time I'm In It For Love" tumbled from 10 to 36. A 1982-ish drop.

Noticed that Casey was having a little trouble with numbers in this week's show: His first error was stating that "Trying to Get the Feeling Again" was Barry Manilow's fourth top 40 record in a row. It was his fifth. Then, right at the end, he claimed that "Silly Love Songs" had been the number one song 'four weeks ago'. Nope, three weeks prior, followed by two weeks at the top for "Love Hangover". Math can be hard!

If Casey was having numerical trouble in the 1976 show, then it's good that he didn't then have to count down the songs in this week's 80s show, where he had to deal with 38 Special, 65 Love Affair, and 867-5309.
