Extras are the same as the 2010 airing, but they're in a different order. "Barracuda" first, followed by "Easy" and lastly "Give A Little Bit". I have a copy of the 2010 airing and the optional extras were in the order you specified.

Assume this was the only show in the 'Casey era' in which both #40 and #39 were 'one-week wonders'? And speaking of #39, which I had never heard before: 1) Did not sound like Marie Osmond. 2) Did not sound 17! Clearly patterned after Diana Ross' version of "Ain't No Mountain..." (esp the spoken sections)

Assume this was the only show in the 'Casey era' in which both #40 and #39 were 'one-week wonders'? Quite possibly the only time. And similar to two 1972 shows -- July 22 and July 29 -- where 'two-week wonders' Beverly Bremers ("We're Free") and the Grass Roots ("The Runway") stayed, respectively, in the #40 and #39 positions.

There were three "two week wonders" in January/February 1973 (Luther Ingram's "I'll Be Your Shelter" at #40, the Who's "Relay" and Partridge Family's "Looking Through the Eyes of Love" at #39). Ingram's two week run overlapped the Who's second week and the Partridge Family's first week.

Anyone listening to the show on 93.9 The River - are you having problem with the sound? At times, the volume seems to intermittently change.

Did Casey ever get around to pronouncing "Ariel" correctly? In every show I've heard he says "AIR'-ee-ul" and it's clearly supposed to be "ar-ee-ELL". Nobody ever pointed this out to him?

I was surprised when this weeks 1977 show left in the "G-Dam" from The Eagles "Life In The Fast Lane".

This first one is a stretch, as it was out just around the same time as his brand new, soon-to-be top 10 hit, but I’ll try ...
* “Breezin’” — George Benson. (Hey, I like it better than “This Masquerade” anyway, the song that did make the chart and was on its way to No. 10.)
Also:
* “Good Vibrations” — Todd Rundgren. * “Play That Funky Music” — Wild Cherry. (Debut at No. 110 on the Hot 100.)

I noticed both of those things too -- the early start and the high volume of commercials. I was pretty surprised that they played all three extras (first time in months that they have done that for the 70's show), especially with so many ads. Probably just a coincidence, but maybe the early start somehow helped keep their automation software from dropping extras?
