Prediction for next week's show: 1st Guess - Top 80 of 1970, Part 1 2nd Guess - Top 50 of 1979 Well, since we know it's not 1971, the next year end special that hasn't been played in the longest span of time is 1970. I don't think it will be 1979, but Premiere played all of ONE show from that year in the last six months of 2019, so I'll throw that out as the 2nd guess. Premiere was weird with 1979 this year: it was an A four times from February to June and only once thereafter, in November (there was also a B in October, which with some effort I was able to find the full four version of). I also thought that 1970 was likely to be the year end show, but am not shocked by 1976; it was one of four years I narrowed it down to (others were 1970, 74, and 75), and hasn't been aired since 2014-15, so not too recent for a replay five years later. Standalone shows from 1976 were played six times this year, but only once after September and that one was one of the now-small number of unaired countdowns. Yep that does make sense -- 1976 hasn't been played in five years so it should be good for a repeat. A little surprised it wasn't 1970 or '71 this year, but I do like the '76 Top 100. Pete--thanks for the info!

It looks as if 12/16/72 will feature mono to stereo conversion by Ken Martin.

Pete--thanks for the info! Not unhappy that '76 was picked and will listen--don't think I've ever heard it since Nov '76--July '77 was one of the times my local area was without AT40. That said, I was kind of hoping for 1970, as that was the very first year -end countdown I ever heard (duh!) and I remember how fascinating it was to see how the songs from the first (pre-AT40) half of the year ranked overall. Plus, it was one of the two year-end countdowns ('71 being the other) that I sent away for and received a printed copy, complete with Casey's 'action photo'!

I'm under the assumption that KOKZ,WTOJ,WSQL will be airing all four hours of the "Top 100 of 1976" next weekend.

"Crazy Horses" by The Osmonds will be heard on the countdown from 12/16/72-It sounds like a song that would've received airplay on an album rock station.

Listening on WQSL - yes, this weekend's edition of 12/16/72 has Rod Stewart's "Angel" rather than the B-side "Lost Paraguayos."

I forgot that WPAC also airs the four-hour shows from the 70's.

Noticed that Motown was still shaving a year off of Michael Jackson's age as late as December 1972. He had turned 14 in August of that year, Casey called him 13. They had started doing that in late 1969 when "I Want You Back" was first charting, passing then-11-year-old Michael as 10.

Is there a big difference between a 10 or 11 year old singing lead on a #1 hit?
