I am assuming that KOKZ will air the Top 100 of 1978-Will there be other stations that could air 1978? Will Ken Martin have/had to put longer versions of songs to facilitate the 4 hour show format or were the songs not as chopped down in the original broadcast ? According to their website, KOKZ will be going with the 1978 show. It didn't say if this will be the 4-hour show, but given their history of playing the 4-hour shows, I assume (hope) it will be.

I hope that the Top 80 of 1972 has the Casey re-caps at the end of the hour removed (how redundant) and that the songs will be heard in stereo (as this was the last year end countdown that was still in mono). I suppose we will find out this week end. You’re probably the only person on this board who’s ever wanted Casey’s voice to be removed. It’s rare when something like that happens and it’s unlikely in this case too.

So the 1978 countdown is the complete version as heard in 1978 (except minus the first and fifth hours for some stations), and not the Premiere-edited three hour version that's been used before? If so I wonder why they didn't choose to air it on its own; while the decision to use 1972 as the A makes obvious sense as it's never been aired by Premiere in any form, couldn't the complete 1978 be used next year?

Is any station carrying last week's 1977 show? WHPY is currently airing 1977. streamdb4web.securenetsystems.net/v5/WHPYFMDoes anyone know if WPNC has a regular time for airing the shows after Christmas? Last year, WPNC started airing the shows it didn't play when station went all-Christmas on Dec 26 at 10 am through 3am. WPNC aired 70's shows at 2pm & after midnight. Thank you.

Maybe next year the 1 week year ender for 1971 may get its long due turn with a B show option.

I only want the re-caps done at the end of the hours removed; if you've listened to that hour's show why is it necessary to re-cap the songs you just heard. I know they did that in case you tuned into the show sometime after the hour began--that is what I am calling redundant. It wasn't done for every hour but only for the first three hours (which felt padded IMO).

Finally my birth year of 1972, then as a bonus, an unedited 1978 4-hour version, exactly 6 years later to the day!

Exactly my thoughts... and it's going to be a real challenge to find a station that will play not only the 1978 top 100, but all 8 hours (with a good steam). If '78 had been the A, it would be much easier to find that.

I believe Premiere’s affiliates now have access to the year-end programs. I’m sure someone will post the dates and the extras at some point. And soon the challenges will begin to determine who is playing what show(s) and when ... perhaps as early as Christmas Day? Season's Greetings! There is a good chance that Hits 100 Aruba will play part 1 of the 1972 year-ender on Christmas (6 pm eastern). The station played part 1 of 1986 year-ender, yesterday. 209.9.238.26/streamNo AT40 on Hits 100 Aruba as of 6:10 eastern. I doubt they run AT40 tonight,it sounds like they're running some sort of special about ABBA. They also played plenty of holiday music today.

KOKZ & WPAC should have all 8 hours of the 1978 top 100 over the next 2 weekends. The Classic AT40 Channel should have the '78 show tomorrow afternoon. They aired the 1972 show earlier today. www.iheart.com/live/classic-american-top-40-6545/

Part 1 of the Top 100 hits of 1978 is about to start on the Classic AT40 Channel.
WPNC has an AT40 YE marathon in progress. Presently at the halfway point of the Top 40 songs of 1977.
