Mike - Unless it happened more than once, I think I remember this 3/22/75 show, where Barry White and Love Unlimited Orchestra were back-to-back. I'm sure Casey had something to say about that. I'll be listening specifically for that.

Love the "frog in pond " story of Bob Seger.
On the other hand, Casey mentioned the 4 Dutch acts to chart in the Top 40: Shocking Blue, George Baker Selection, Mouth & MacNeal, and Golden Earring. Surprised the research team missed the fifth one since they were part of the "Dutch Invasion" and recorded on the same Colossus label as the Shocking Blue and George Baker Selection.
"Ma Belle Amie" - Tee Set
Anyone know whether they corrected this oversight in a subsequent program?

No there was never a correction for that. But in a bit of a coincidence, I heard the 3/12/83 show on the anniversary of that the other day. Before #39, Casey said, "In March 1970, the group Tee Set was in the top 40 with 'My Belle Amie' while the group Shocking Blue was also in with thier hit 'Venus'. That was the only time that 2 songs by Dutch acts were in the top 40 until now." And then he talked about how Vandenburg was debuting while Golden Earring was in the top 40. Having heard that a few days ago, I should have pointed that mistake out myself. But you did so kudos to you for doing so!

He replied, "Hocus Pocus" by Focus. That should have been enough to remind me.

I also noticed the omission of The Tee Set & Focus.

Dave,I agree with you 100% about the 3/19/77 countdown being heavily edited.

Sure were a LOT of edits in the 3-19-77 show. Darn... I thought we were finally going to get through an entire weekend without Dave complaining about the edits, and at 9 p.m. on Sunday we hear from him . Dave... remember there's a thread regarding the editing and looping of shows. The first post in that thread states: Here is a thread where all of those who get annoyed with edits on the show can now express their displeasure here.
How about keeping your editing complaints to that thread?!?! With love, 80sat40fan

Dave,I agree with you 100% about the 3/19/77 countdown being heavily edited. I have only listened to a few 77 episodes (not my favorite year) but yes, it's not hard to tell why they went to four hours in 1978.

The 3/22/75 chart seems to takes variety to a different level. For example, on this weeks show:
First hour has an adult contemporary song that is partially in Italian. Second hour has a country hit that is partially in Spanish. Final hour has a soul single that is partially in French.
